Avatar OE 2024 Update 35 Jul 1, 2024 • 2024.02.00
Avatar Order Entry is enhanced to support putting orders on hold when a client goes on leave via Avatar PM's 'Leaves' form. This is accomplished via the "Hold" selection in the 'Discontinue or Hold Orders Upon Leave' extended attribute off of the 'Type of Leave From' dictionary in Avatar PM (Client File, data element 757). Please note: Avatar PM 2024 Update 36 or Avatar Cal-PM 2024 Update 38 is required for full functionality. In addition, the following issues are resolved: 1) Orders automatically discontinued via client discharge or leave are given a 'Discontinue Effective Date' and 'Discontinue Effective Time' that reflects when the discharge or leave was filed, rather than the 'Date of Discharge' / 'Discharge Time' or the 'Leave Date' / 'Leave Time' that is indicated when filing the discharge or leave. 2) A client's 'Admission Medication Reconciliation' and 'Discharge Medication Reconciliation' data are not updated when using the 'Change MR#', 'Client Merge', or 'Client Delete' forms.
Avatar OE 2024 Update 23 Jun 28, 2024 • 2024.02.00
Avatar OE 2024 Update 22 Jun 27, 2024 • 2024.02.00
An issue is resolved where data from the table 'OrderEntry.history_client_order_lab' may not be transferred to the new Client ID number during the Client Merge and/or Change MR # processes.

Avatar OE 2024 Update 33 Jun 26, 2024 • 2024.02.00
An issue is resolved in the Order Entry Console (Home Medications and Discharge Med Reconciliation sections), when using myAvatar NX, where overly long descriptions of items in the 'New Order' search results do not wrap to a second line when the "(** Non-Formulary **)" notation is shown.
Order Entry Console
Avatar OE 2024 Update 31 Jun 19, 2024 • 2024.02.00
The Order Entry Console is enhanced to support Ad Hoc Medication Reconciliation. This functionality is enabled via the registry setting 'Enable Medication Reconciliation within the Order Entry Console', which also allows Admission and/or Discharge Medication Reconciliation to be enabled/disabled. Note: Ad Hoc Medication Reconciliation is available only in myAvatar NX and a myAvatar NX Release is also needed to make use of Ad Hoc Medication Reconciliation. In addition, an issue is resolved in the Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode section) where an order might be created with a 'Priority' that does not match the order's 'Frequency Code'.
Order Entry Console
Avatar OE 2024 Update 18 Jun 11, 2024 • 2024.02.00
In the 'External Lab/Radiology Definition for CareConnect' form, the 'Group Order Messages' prompt is enhanced to verify that the 'Enable Order Message Queue and Multi Test Lab Orders' registry setting is enabled when setting the prompt to "Yes".

Avatar OE 2024 Update 21 Jun 6, 2024 • 2024.02.00
The 'Frequency Code Setup' form is modified to prevent the use of HL7 reserved characters in the 'New Frequency Code' and 'Frequency Code Description' fields. These HL7 reserved characters are: pipe (|), ampersand (&), caret (^), tilde (~), and backslash (\).

Avatar OE 2024 Update 32 May 28, 2024 • 2024.01.02
In the Order Entry Console (Home Medications section), an issue is resolved where the 'Practitioner' field on the 'Notify Attending Practitioner' dialog might not default to the client's 'Attending Practitioner'. Please note that the 'Notify Attending Practitioner' dialog is available only in myAvatar NX, and that a myAvatar NX Release is also required to resolve this issue.
Avatar OE 2024 Update 20 May 23, 2024 • 2024.01.02
The extended dictionary attribute 'Diet Consistency Type' (20998) is added to the 'Diet Restrictions' dictionary (20982. File = 'Order Entry Client Information'). This allows a facility to define restrictions that can used to indicate diet/liquid consistency.

Avatar OE 2024 Update 27 May 21, 2024 • 2024.01.02
An issue is resolved where email, pop-up or SMS text notifications could be sent for orders due to be renewed or reordered when the system is not configured to do so.
Order Entry Console
Avatar OE 2024 Update 30 May 15, 2024 • 2024.01.02
The following issues are resolved: 1) In the Order Entry Console, the description of an order's 'Reason Code' is not included in prescriptions sent to outside pharmacies by OrderConnect via eRx or Fax, nor on printed prescriptions generated by OrderConnect. 2) In the Order Entry Console (Home Medications and Discharge Med Reconciliation sections), when doing a Reorder, Modify, or Make Rx, the 'Directions' and 'Note to Pharmacist' fields might include an extra backslash (\) if the text that was originally saved contained a forward slash (/). (Such backslashes might also be included in the 'Note to Pharmacist' text that is displayed in the list of existing client Home Medications.)
Order Entry Console
Avatar OE 2024 Update 25 May 15, 2024 • 2024.01.02
An issue is resolved in the Order Entry Console (Home Medications and Discharge Med Reconciliation sections) where the 'Final Review' dialog might default to a pharmacy based on the external pharmacy that would be used for the client's inpatient episode.
Order Entry Console
Avatar OE 2024 Update 19 May 15, 2024 • 2024.01.02
An issue is resolved in the table 'OrderEntry.table_order_group' where the field 'ORDERID' has a datatype of "Numeric" instead of "String", which could result in incorrect handling of non-numeric 'ORDERID' values in reports and queries, and makes it more difficult to use this field to JOIN to other tables where the 'ORDERID' field is correctly defined as datatype "String". Because changing the datatype of an existing field in a table can cause existing reports and queries to fail, a new property called 'ORDERID_string' is added to this table. The 'ORDERID_string' field contains the 'Order Code' for each component order within an 'Order Group' in a field that is defined as datatype "String". This new field can be used to JOIN to other tables that have an 'ORDERID' field that is defined as datatype "String".

Avatar OE 2024 Update 24 May 6, 2024 • 2024.01.02
An issue is resolved where an order's 'Hours of Administration' might not reflect customization performed when the order was created.

Avatar OE 2024 Update 11 May 3, 2024 • 2024.01.02
The 'Order Code Load/Update Utility Via Micromedex Red Book Database' form is enhanced to support Tall Man Lettering, as supplied within the Red Book database. The form now provides prompts to allow for opting-in to use mixed-case / Tall Man Lettering on new 'Order Codes' created via this process, and also to allow 'Order Codes' that were previously created by this process to have their 'Description' fields updated/replaced with the current medication name, as supplied in the Red Book database, using mixed-case / Tall Man Lettering. Note: If "Netsmart Cloud-hosted Micromedex Data" functionality is enabled, then Avatar CareFabric 2024 Update 10 must also be installed to support this functionality.

Avatar OE 2024 Update 29 May 2, 2024 • 2024.01.02
The registry setting 'Automatically set Nursing Order Acknowledgement/Verification upon discharge' is changed from a default value of "A" (Acknowledged) to a default value of "V" (Acknowledged and Verified). In other words, if the current value of this registry setting is "A", it will be changed to "V". Otherwise, this Update will have no effect. If keeping this registry setting set to a value of "A" is desired, then this registry setting will need to be manually reset after installing this Update.

Avatar OE 2024 Update 15 Apr 23, 2024 • 2024.01.01

Avatar OE 2024 Update 14 Mar 28, 2024 • 2024.01.01
The Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode and Admission Med Reconciliation sections) is enhanced to display the 'Order Guidelines' that might be defined for an 'Order Code'. A "G" icon is displayed in the list of existing client orders ('Order Details' column), in the 'Order Details' panel, and in the Scratchpad, when the selected 'Order Code' has 'Order Guidelines' defined. In addition, the beginning of the 'Order Guidelines' are displayed (to the extent that space is available) next to the "G" icon that might be shown near the top of the 'Order Details' panel. This functionality can be enabled via the new registry setting 'Display Order Guidelines in Order Entry Console or eMAR'. Please note that this new feature is available only in Avatar NX, and that an Avatar NX Release is also required in order to make use of this functionality. In addition, an issue is resolved in the Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode section) where the 'External Lab Vendor' would not contain a default value when the order was selected via an 'Order Group'.
Order Entry Console
Avatar OE 2024 Update 10 Mar 28, 2024 • 2024.01.00
The following enhancements are included: 1) The 'OrderEntry.history_client_order' SQL table is enhanced for better performance. 2) The 'OrderEntry.history_client_order' and 'OrderEntry.history_client_order_lab' SQL tables can be included in Avatar Data Trail auditing. This can be done via the 'Data Trail Configuration' form. Note that the ability to enable Data Trail auditing for the 'OrderEntry.history_client_order' table is dependent on the completion of a process that was initiated by the installation of Avatar OE 2022 Update 33. If that process has not yet completed, then the ability to enable Data Trail auditing for this table will not be available, but will become available when that process does complete.
Order Entry Console
Avatar OE 2024 Update 12 Mar 25, 2024 • 2024.01.00
An issue is resolved in the 'Frequency Code Setup' form where the 'Days Administered' prompt is disabled when editing a pre-existing 'Frequency Code' that is defined as 'Daily Administration' = "Not Daily".
Avatar OE 2024 Update 8 Mar 22, 2024 • 2024.01.00
An issue is resolved in the Order Entry Console (Home Medications section) where an incorrect 'Dose Unit' might default into the 'Order Details' section when a "top-prescribed" item is selected from the 'New Order' search. This could happen if the selected "top-prescribed" item was created based on an order where the user modified the 'Dose Unit' from the default value.
Order Entry Console
Avatar OE 2024 Update 6 Feb 15, 2024 • 2024.00.01
An issue is resolved where the error "[UNDEFINED]GetOCAgency+42^OrderEntryConsoleUtils *program" might occur when attempting to submit orders in the Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode section) while using external pharmacy mode in Avatar NX.
Order Entry Console
Avatar OE 2024 Update 9 Feb 13, 2024 • 2024.00.01
The following enhancements are included for laboratory orders sent to an external lab vendor via CareConnect: 1) A new SQL table 'OrderEntry.group_order_nums' is added for reporting visibility into "placer order numbers" assigned to groups of tests ordered together. 2) The "placer order number" or the assigned "group order number" is displayed in the 'Order Details' column of the Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode section), labeled 'Requisition#'.
Order Entry Console
Avatar OE 2024 Update 5 Jan 26, 2024 • 2024.00.00
An issue is resolved in the Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode section) where laboratory orders with an 'External Lab Vendor Destination' have their 'Specimen Collection' value removed if the 'Print ABN' button is clicked. This can cause such an order to remain active in Avatar eMAR when the order is discontinued, or for a Renew to not be reflected in Avatar eMAR. Note that the 'Print ABN' button is available in the Order Entry Console only in Avatar NX.
Order Entry Console
Avatar OE 2024 Update 3 Jan 10, 2024 • 2024.00.00
The following issues are resolved: 1. The 'Client Profile - Order Details' report may display overlapping field values within the 'Allergies / Hypersensitivities' and 'Problem' sub-reports found in the 'Client Profile / Physicians Orders' form. 2. In the Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode section) where the 'Date/Time' column of the 'Order History' pop-up dialog might display standard 12-hour time instead of military time when the 'Enable Military Time' registry setting is enabled. Similarly, in the Order Entry Console (Home Medications section), the 'Last Dose' column of the 'Activity History' pop-up dialog.
