Scenario 1: External Lab/Radiology Definition for CareConnect - Group Order Messages
Specific Setup:
  • The 'Avatar Order Entry->Interfaces->CareFabric->->->Enable Order Message Queue and Multi-Test Lab Orders' registry setting must be set to "N".
  • Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration.
  • An "eVendor" must exist. (Vendor A)
Steps
  1. Access the ‘External Lab/Radiology Definition for CareConnect’ form.
  2. Select "Edit" from the 'Add New or Edit Existing Lab Vendor' field.
  3. Select “Vendor A” in the ‘Existing Vendor’ field.
  4. Select "Yes" in the ‘Group Order Messages’ field.
  5. Validate a message is displayed stating: "The 'Enable Order Message Queue and Multi-Test Lab Orders' registry setting must be enabled in order to select "Yes"." and click [OK].

Frequency Code Setup - Reserved Characters
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:

Scenario 1: Frequency Code Setup - Editing a frequency code
Specific Setup:
  1. A frequency code with 'Daily Administration' set to "Daily" must exist in the application (Frequency Code A).
  2. A frequency code with 'Daily Administration' set to "Not Daily" must exist in the application (Frequency Code B).
Steps
  1. Access the 'Frequency Code Setup' form.
  2. Select "Add New Code" from the 'Add/Edit Frequency Code' field.
  3. Set the 'New Frequency Code' field to any value that includes any of :

Client Merge and Change MR #

Scenario 1: OE NX - Compendium AOE questions - Change MR# and Client Merge
Specific Setup:
  • The 'OrderEntry.history_client_order_lab' table must be selected in the 'Data Trail Configuration' form.
  • An 'External Lab Vendor' must exist. (Lab Vendor A)
  • "Lab Vendor A" must be configured with compendium AOE questions.
  • An active 'Specimen Type' must exist. (Specimen Type A)
  • A lab-type order code must exist that is associated with "Lab Vendor A" and "Specimen Type A". (Order Code A)
  • Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration
  • A client must have an active episode. (Client A).
  • “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
  2. Search for and select “Order Code A” in the ‘New Order’ field.
  3. Populate all required fields and 'Lab Vendor', 'Communication Method', 'Specimen Collection', 'Specimen Type', and 'Specimen Site fields.
  4. Click [Ask on Order Entry], answer all required AOE questions and click [Save].
  5. Click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Sign].
  6. Validate the 'Order grid' contains an order for "Order Code A".
  7. Create three reports using the following tables:
  8. ‘OrderEntry.history_client_order_lab’, ‘OrderEntry.aoe_answers’, and ‘Audit.history_client_order_lab’.
  9. Validate that the one row exists in each ‘OrderEntry.history_client_order_lab’ and ‘Audit.history_client_order_lab’ table for the "Order Code A" created for "Client A".
  10. Validate that each row exists in 'OrderEntry.aoe_answers' for each AOE question associated to "Order Code A".
  11. Access the ‘Change MR#’ form and change the MR# for “Client A” to "Client B".
  12. Refresh the reports.
  13. Validate the rows in the ‘OrderEntry.history_client_order_lab’ and ‘OrderEntry.aoe_answers’ tables have been updated from the old PATID "Client A" to the new PATID "Client B".
  14. Validate the row in the ‘Audit.history_client_order_lab’ table for "Client A" has been created with 'audit_action_value' as "Delete". Now there are two rows for "Client A" one with 'audit_action_value' as "Add" and the other with "Delete".
  15. Validate a row is created for new PATID "Client B" for "Order Code A" in the ‘Audit.history_client_order_lab’ table.
  16. Access the ‘Client Merge’ form and merge "Client B" with "Client C" as the 'Target Client'.
  17. Refresh the reports.
  18. Validate the rows in the ‘OrderEntry.history_client_order_lab’ and ‘OrderEntry.aoe_answers’ tables have been updated from the old PATID "Client B" to the new PATID "Client C".
  19. Validate the row in the ‘Audit.history_client_order_lab’ table for "Client B" has been created with 'audit_action_value' as "Delete". Now there are two rows for "Client B" one with 'audit_action_value' as "Add" and other with "Delete".
  20. Validate a row is created for the new PATID "Client C" for "Order Code A" in the ‘Audit.history_client_order_lab’ table.

  4. Click [Yes] to the warning message
  5. Validate message "Test Succeeded" is displayed

  7. Validate message "Test Succeeded" is displayed
  8. Click [Yes] to the warning message
  9. Validate message "Test Succeeded" is displayed
  10. Log into "Guardiant"
  11. At the "Client Search", select the desired client account number
  12. Click "Analytics" from the menu on the right side panel
  13. Click the "License" tab
  14. Click the "Clinical" tab at the top of the page
  15. Navigate to the "# of Orders" graph

OE NX - Ad Hoc Reconciliation

Scenario 1: OE NX - Intra-episode Ad Hoc Medication Reconciliation
Specific Setup:
  • Avatar OE 2024 Update 31 and myAvatar NX Release 2024.07.00 are required in order to utilize full functionality.
  • The 'Avatar Order Entry->Facility Defaults->Medication Reconciliation->->->Enable Medication Reconciliation within the Order Entry Console' registry setting must be set to "ADM&DIS&AD_HOC".
  • The '(10911) Type Of Reconciliation' extended attribute must be set to "Intra-episode" in the Order Entry Tabled Files '(10910) Ad Hoc Medication Reconciliation Type' for "Return From Leave".
  • Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration.
  • A client must have active inpatient episode.
  • “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
  2. Create 2 pharmacy-type orders (Order A, Order B)
  3. Access the 'Ad Hoc Reconciliation' tab.
  4. Select "Return from leave" from the 'Type' field.
  5. Validate "Order A" and "Order B" are displayed in the 'Before Reconciliation' grid.
  6. Select "Order A" and click [Modify].
  7. Populate the required fields and make any changes to the 'Order Details' for "Order A" and click [Add to Scratchpad].
  8. Validate "Order A" displays in the 'After Reconciliation' grid with an 'Action' of "Modify".
  9. Select "Order B" and click [Continue].
  10. Validate "Order B" displays in the 'After Reconciliation' grid with an 'Action' of "CONT".
  11. Search for and select a pharmacy-type order code in the 'New Order' field.
  12. Populate all required fields and click [Add to Scratchpad].
  13. Validate the 'After Reconciliation' grid contains:
  14. "Order A" with an 'Action' of "Modify".
  15. "Order B" with an 'Action' of "CONT".
  16. The new order with an 'Action' of "NEW".
  17. Click [Hold in Pending Status].
  18. Validate the 'Load prior Reconciliation' field contains "Return From Leave - Ordering Practitioner information - Date and time (Pending)".
  19. Click [Edit Pending Reconciliation].
  20. Validate a message stating " Ad Hoc Medication Reconciliation has not been updated to reflect any changes to inpatient or discharge medications since previously saved. Please review accordingly." is displayed and click [Ok].
  21. Click [Reconcile & Sign].
  22. Validate the 'Ad Hoc Reconciliation' tab is in view-only mode.
  23. Select the 'Orders This Episode' tab.
  24. Validate that the 'Order grid' contains three orders.
Scenario 2: OE NX - Inter-episode Ad Hoc Medication Reconciliation
Specific Setup:
  • Avatar OE 2024 Update 31 and myAvatar NX Release 2024.07.00 are required in order to utilize full functionality.
  • The 'Avatar Order Entry->Facility Defaults->Medication Reconciliation->->->Enable Medication Reconciliation within the Order Entry Console' registry setting must be set to "ADM&DIS&AD_HOC".
  • The '(10911) Type Of Reconciliation' extended attribute must be set to "Inter-episode" in the Order Entry Tabled Files '(10910) Ad Hoc Medication Reconciliation Type' for "Interrupted Stay/Readmission".
  • Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration.
  • A client must have an inpatient episode whose program or unit are configured in the ‘External Pharmacy Setup’ form. (Client A)
  • “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
  • "Client A" must have a discharged episode where orders were D/C due to discharge (Order 1, Order 2, Order 3)
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
  2. Create 3 pharmacy-type orders (Order A, Order B, Order C).
  3. Access the 'Ad Hoc Reconciliation' tab.
  4. Select "Interrupted Stay/Readmission" from the 'Type' field.
  5. Validate the orders from the discharged episode are displayed in the 'Before Reconciliation' grid.
  6. Validate the orders created on 'Orders This Episode' for the current episode are displayed in the 'After Reconciliation' grid.
  7. Select "Order 1" under 'Before Reconciliation' and click [Do not add].
  8. Select "Order 2" and "Order 3" under 'Before Reconciliation' and click [Add to Scratchpad].
  9. Validate that "Order 2" and "Order 3" are displayed correctly in the 'After Reconciliation' grid.
  10. Select "Order A" and click [Continue].
  11. Select "Order B" and click [DC].
  12. Select "Order C" and click [Modify].
  13. Make any changes to "Order C" and click [Update Order].
  14. Click [Hold in Pending Status] and validate the 'Ad Hoc Reconciliation' tab displays in a pending status.
  15. Click [Edit Pending Reconciliation] and validate a message displays stating: "Ad Hoc Medication Reconciliation has not been updated to reflect any changes to inpatient or discharge medications since previously saved. Please review accordingly." and click [Ok].
  16. Make any changes to the current 'Ad Hoc Reconciliation'.
  17. Click [Restart Reconciliation] and validate a message displays stating: "Clicking Restart will discard all current changes. Are you sure you wish to restart?" and click [Yes].
  18. Validate the 'Ad Hoc Reconciliation' tab displays the how it did after clicking [Hold in Pending Status].
  19. Click [Discard].
  20. Validate a message is displayed stating: "This action will permanently discard the Pending Ad Hoc Reconciliation. Are you sure you wish to continue?" and click [No].
  21. Click [Reconcile and Review].
  22. Validate the 'Final Review' dialog is displayed.
  23. Select "None" in the 'Output' column for all orders and click [Sign].
  24. Validate the 'Ad Hoc Reconciliation' tabs displays in a view only status with the [Add New] button enabled and the 'Load Prior Reconciliation' field containing the details from the now filed 'Ad Hoc Reconciliation'.
  25. Select the 'Orders This Episode' tab
  26. Validate that the 'Order grid' contains four orders.

Specific Setup:
  • The 'Avatar Order Entry->Facility Defaults->OrderConnect->->->'Suppress Surescripts Formulary checking in OE Console Home Medications search' registry setting must be set to "N".
  • Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration.
  • A client must have an active episode whose program or unit are configured in the 'External Pharmacy Setup' form. (Client A)
  • “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
  2. Click on 'Home Medications' tab.
  3. Uncheck the 'Client Reported' checkbox.
  4. Search for "Non-Formulary" in the 'New Order' field and validate the long description is wrapped in the next line.
  5. Select any medication in the 'New Order' field.
  6. Populate all required fields and click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Final review].
  7. Validate the ‘Interactions’ dialog is displayed.
  8. Override all interactions and click [Save Override and Exit].
  9. Validate the 'Final Review' dialog is displayed.
  10. Select "None" in the 'Output' field and click [Sign].
  11. Validate the ‘Order grid’ contains the new order.
  12. Click on 'Discharge Reconciliation' tab.
  13. Uncheck the 'No Prescription Required' checkbox.
  14. Search for "Non-Formulary" in the 'New Order' field and validate the long description is wrapped in the next line.
  15. Select any medication in the 'New Order' field.
  16. Populate all required fields and click [Add to Scratchpad].

Scenario 1: OE NX - Discontinue on Discharge
Specific Setup:
  • A client must have an active inpatient episode. (Client A)
  • “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
  • "Client A" must have at least one active pharmacy-type order.
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the 'Discharge' form.
  2. Set the 'Date of Discharge' field to yesterday's date.
  3. Set the 'Discharge Time' field to any time.
  4. Select any value in the 'Type Of Discharge' field.
  5. Set the 'Discharge Practitioner' field to any value.
  6. Click [Submit].
  7. Access the Order Entry Console.
  8. Validate the 'Order grid' does not contain any "Active" orders.
  9. Select "Discontinued" from the 'Status' field.
  10. Validate the order(s) that were previously active for "Client A" are displayed in the 'Order grid'.
  11. Create a report using the 'OrderEntry.history_client_order' table and include the 'dis_effective_date', 'dis_effective_time' fields as well as any other relevant fields.
  12. Validate the 'dis_effective_date' and 'dis_effective_time' fields contain the values entered in the 'Discharge Date' and 'Discharge Time' fields.
Discharge Reconciliation - Create an order and Change MR#, Client Merge and Delete Client
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:

Scenario 1: OE-NX - Discharge Med Reconciliation - Create an order, Client Merge
Specific Setup:
  • Two pharmacy-type order codes must exist (Order Code A) (Order Code B).
  • Two clients must exist and each must have an active episode. (Client A) (Client B).
  • "Client A's" episode must start prior to "Client B's"
  • “Client A” and "Client B" must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
  2. Click the 'Discharge Reconciliation' tab.
  3. Validate the 'Discharge Disposition' field contains "Discharge to Facility".
  4. Uncheck the 'No Prescription Required' checkbox.
  5. Search for and select "Order Code A" in the 'New Order' field.
  6. Populate all required fields and click [Add to Scratchpad].
  7. Set the 'Inhouse Pharmacy' field to "10" and click [Review and Sign].
  8. Validate the 'Final Review' dialog is displayed.
  9. Select "None" in 'Output' and click [Sign].

  27. Populate all the required fields and click [Submit].
  28. Access 'Client Merge' form.
  29. Search for and select "Client A" in the 'Source Client' field.
  30. Search for and select "Client B" in the 'Target Client' field.
  31. Select "No" in the 'Merge All Client Data Through Single Filing' field.
  32. Select "Episode #1" in the 'Source Client Episode' field.
  33. Select "Yes" in the 'Create New Episode On Merge' field.
  34. Click [File].
  35. Validate a message is displayed stating "Do you wish to continue with the indicated action?" and click [Yes].
  36. Validate a message is displayed stating "The following new episode has been created for the target client indicated. Episode 2" and click [OK].
  37. Select "Client B" and access the Order Entry Console.
  38. Select the new "Episode #2" from the 'Header Episode' field.
  39. Click the 'Discharge Reconciliation' tab.
  40. Validate the 'Discharge Med Reconciliation' tab is in view-only mode with "Order Code A".
  41. Refresh the 'OrderEntry.med_rec_dis_scrpad' report.
  42. Validate the row that was for "Client A" in the 'OrderEntry.med_rec_dis_scrpad' table has been updated to "Client B".
Scenario 2: OE-NX - Discharge Med Reconciliation - Create an order, Change MR#, and Delete Client
Specific Setup:
  • A pharmacy-type order code must exist (Order Code A).
  • A client must have an active episode. (Client A).
  • “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
  2. Click the 'Discharge Reconciliation' tab.
  3. Validate the 'Discharge Disposition' field contains "Discharge to Facility".
  4. Uncheck the 'No Prescription Required' checkbox.
  5. Search for and select "Order Code A" in the 'New Order' field.

  14. Refresh the 'OrderEntry.med_rec_dis_scrpad' reports.
  15. Validate the row in the 'OrderEntry.med_rec_dis_scrpad' table has been updated to the new Client ID.
  16. Access the ‘Delete Last Movement’ form for “Client A” and delete the admission for “Episode 1”.
  17. Access the ‘Client Delete’ form and delete “Client A”.
  18. Refresh the 'OrderEntry.med_rec_dis_scrpad' report.
  19. Validate the row in the 'OrderEntry.med_rec_dis_scrpad' table for "Client A" is no longer displayed.
OE NX - Put orders on hold during leave
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:

Scenario 1: OE NX - Put Orders On Hold During Leave
Specific Setup:
  • Avatar PM 2024 Update 36, Avatar OE 2024 Update 35, Avatar eMAR 2024 Update 16, Avatar CWS 2024 Update 48 and myAvatar NX Release 2024.07.00 is required in order to utilize full functionality.
  • The "(772) Discontinue or Hold Orders Upon Leave" extended attribute must be set to "Hold" in the Client '(757) Types Of Leave From' dictionary for "Leave"
  • Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration.
  • A client must have an active inpatient episode (Client A)
  • “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
  2. Search for and select any pharmacy-type order code.
  3. Populate the required fields and click [Add to Scratchpad].
  4. Search for and select any lab-type order code.
  5. Populate the required fields selecting a "PRN" frequency and click [Add to Scratchpad].
  6. Search for and select any dietary oral-type order code.
  7. Populate the required fields and click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Sign].
  8. Validate the 'Order grid' contains three orders.
  9. Access the 'Leaves' form.
  10. Populate the required fields selecting "Leave" from the 'Type of Leave From' field and click [Submit].
  11. Access the Order Entry Console.
  12. Validate the 'Order grid' contains the three orders with each having an action of "Active (On Hold automatically upon leave - Leave)".
  13. Access 'eMAR NX' for "Client A".
  14. Validate there is a banner across the pharmacy-type order hour columns displaying "Leave (Leave) Effective (leave date and leave time)".
  15. Click [Scan Client], populate the required fields, and click [Save].
  16. Perform 'Client Education' and 'Order Acknowledgement'.
  17. Click the ellipsis for the pharmacy-type order and select "Document Additional Dose".
  18. Validate the 'Select Administration Time' dialog is launched.
  19. Select any value in the 'Scheduled Undocumented Doses' section and click [Select].
  20. Validate the order is displayed in the 'Medication List' and click [Administer].
  21. Validate the 'Medication Administration' dialog is displayed.
  22. Populate the required fields.
  23. Click [Address Alerts] and validate there is an alert on the 'Administration Date/Time' tab that displays "This Administration Event is occurring while the order is on hold due to leave (Leave)."
  24. Override any alerts and click [Save Override(s)] and [Close].
  25. Click [Save].
  26. Validate a cell displays administration data for the time selected.
  27. Access 'Task List'.
  28. Search for and select "Client A" in the 'Search Clients' field.
  29. Validate the 'Dietary Oral-type' does not display.
  30. Click 'PRN Tasks'
  31. Validate the 'Lab' order is displayed, select the order, and click [Collect].
  32. Perform 'Order Acknowledgement' and 'Education'.
  33. Validate the 'Specimen Collection' dialog is displayed.
  34. Populate the required fields.
  35. Click [Alerts] and validate a warning displays "This Administration Event is occurring while the order is on hold due to leave (Leave)."
  36. Override any alerts and click [Save Override(s)] and [Close].
  37. Click [Sign].
  38. Access the Order Entry Console.
  39. Select the Dietary Oral-type order in the 'Order grid' and click [Resume], [Add to Scratchpad], and [Sign].
  40. Access 'Task List'.
  41. Click the 'Dietary-Oral Admin' for the next collection time.
  42. Click the checkbox for the order and click [Administer], [Acknowledge], and [Educate].
  43. Validate the 'Dietary-Oral Administration' dialog is displayed
  44. Populate the required fields.
  45. Click [Alerts], override any alerts and click [Save Override(s)] and [Close].
  46. Click [Sign].
