Medication Administration Variance

Specify the period around the MAR scheduled time when users can document MAR:

Field Description
Before scheduled time

Enter for how many minutes before the MAR scheduled time.

After scheduled time

Enter for how many minutes after the MAR scheduled time.

Medication Edit Period

Enter the number of days after a medication is entered during which it can be edited.

Max medication's held duration

Enter the maximum number of days a medication may be held in the application.

End Medications as of Discharge Date

Controls the appearance of the Discontinue Medications dialog at patient's discharge. This setting works with the Allow Discontinue Medications at Patient Discharge operator privilege. With the privilege and the selected setting, at patient's discharge, the Discontinue Medications dialog opens, where you can select which active medications to discontinue.

End Medications as of Transfer Date

Controls the appearance of the Discontinue Medications dialog at a patient's transfer. With the setting selected, when transferring a patient, the Discontinue Medications dialog opens, allowing you to select which medications to discontinue upon transfer. If the patient returns, you are able to easily access and reactivate these medications on resumption of care.

Non-Covered Meds

Select the Non-Covered Meds check box to allow designation of non-covered medications as part of the patient entry process. This is important for hospice agencies that are only responsible for medications related to the patient's terminal illness.

Require May Administer

If this check box is selected, the May Administer field is required for any new entry of medication and the records entered prior to the upgrade whenever such records are edited. If this is an existing record and the field is disabled, this does not require May Administer. For example, when the medication is electronically signed and locked and you enter an End Date. If you do not provide a value when required, the error message appears when the record is posted to a Business Unit.
