Business Units – Settings – Scheduling

Path: Administration>Configuration>Business Units>Settings>Scheduling

The Settings window opens when you click the Settings button on the Business Units window. Click Scheduling in the left section of the window to set up scheduling options for the Business Unit.

Use the following fields to set up scheduling for your Business Unit:

Field Description

Schedule Scale

Enter the minimum duration period for an event.

Display Scale N min(s)

Enter the number that defines the time increments between hours on the grid display of a calendar.

For example, if you select 60 minutes, the calendar shows 8:00, 9:00, etc. If you select 30, the calendar shows 8:00, 8:30, 9:00, 9:30, etc.

Start day for Printed Calendars

Enter the appropriate start day for printed calendars or click down arrow to select it from the drop-down list. This day appears first on all printed schedules.

Percent Under

Enter the percentage under for scheduled visits. Netsmart Homecare uses this percentage for utilization calculation.

Percent Over

Enter or select the percentage over for scheduled visits. Netsmart Homecare uses this percentage for utilization calculation.

Provisional Times

Select the Provisional Times check box to schedule visits with a provisional time. You must also select the Provisional Time setting in the Resource Types window of the Administration component.

Estimate Costs

Select the estimate costs option for users when scheduling a visit for a contractor, if any. The available options include Required, Not Permitted, and Optional.

Allow Future Visits to be Marked Unmade

Select this check box to allow users to enter an unmade visit reason for future visits.

This field is used or edited only by Netsmart Healthcare Systems Client Support Services.

Enable Therapy Visit Warning

Select this check box to report the due day of therapy reassessment visit in the My Day component and in the Reports component.

This check box is selected by default for agencies of type V (Home Health) and B (Both Home Health Agency and Hospice) and is clear for agencies of type H (Hospice certified) and S (Hospice and Home Health certified). You can check the agency type on the Basic tab in Administration>Configuration>Business Units. For more information on Therapy Visits, see About Therapy Visits.

Highlight Therapy Visit Changes on the Schedule

Select this check box to activate highlighting of the therapy visits and each 30th day for the qualifying reassessment visit in the Schedule component.

Highlight Therapy Visit Changes on the Schedule on Request

Select this check box to activate the Highlight Therapy Visits button in the Schedule component. You can click this button to show or hide highlighting of therapy visits and the 30th day for the qualifying reassessment visit in the Schedule component.

 Allow Automatic Service Verification

Select this check box to allow all services from Homecare Mobile Tablet that pass the validation process on synchronization to be automatically verified.

Require Completing the Needs Window to Admit Patient

Select this check box to require completing the Needs window in Patient>General for a patient admission.

Use Values Specified in the Needs Window to Match Resource

Select this check box to prefill the Match Resource dialog with the values defined in the Needs window. If this check box is not selected, then the Match Resource dialog will be prefilled with the values previously defined in this dialog.

Require Call Log When Changing Visits

Select this check box to require completing the Call Log dialog when modifying any of the following fields: Time, Svc Code, Resource, Patient, Duration, Insurance, or Date.

Require Entering Comment on Call Log

Select this check box to require specifying a comment in the Comments section of the Call Log dialog.

Restriction on Future Scheduling: <N> weeks in Host Mode

Define the number of weeks ahead during which visits can be scheduled in future in Host Mode. The maximum number of weeks for future scheduling is 24. If 0 is defined, then future scheduling is not restricted in Host Mode.

Note: The limit in weeks for future scheduling in Host Mode can be exceeded if the appropriate privilege is granted by the Netsmart Homecare administrator.

Define the number of weeks ahead during which visits can be scheduled in future in Field Mode. The maximum number of weeks for future scheduling is 24. If 0 is defined, then future scheduling is not restricted in Field Mode.
