Business Units – Settings – Assessments

Path: Administration>Configuration>Business Units>Settings>Assessments

You can configure the Assessments on the Business Unit level by setting the following parameters:

Field Description

Edit Period: <N> day(s)

Enter the maximum number of days (starting from the date when the assessment was completed) during which the user can edit an assessment. When the specified period is over, only a system administrator can unlock and edit the assessment.

Show Detail by Default

Select to display the assessment details in the Assessments window. If this check box is selected, then the Show Detail check box in the Assessments window is selected by default.

Report: Exclude Not Applicable, Not Evaluated Responses

Select to exclude not applicable and not evaluated assessment responses from the Assessment History report.

View Last <N> day(s)/assessment(s)

Assessment history limitation in days or assessments.

If setting for assessment history limitation is defined as N days, then the system will load all assessment templates except the Abbreviated within the specified date range and within the current admission period. The specified date range is N days backward starting from the current date.

For OASIS assessments, if within the specified date range there are no OASIS assessments with RFA 1, 3, or 4, then the system will load additionally the recent OASIS assessments with RFA 1, 3, or 4 out of the range within the current admission period.

If setting for assessment history limitation is defined as N assessments, then the system will load the recent (starting from the current date) N assessments except the Abbreviated within the current admission period. For OASIS assessments, if within this set of the assessments there is no OASIS assessments with RFA 1, 3, or 4, then the system will load additional recent OASIS assessments with RFA 1, 3, or 4. The default value is set to 30 days within the current admission period.

State

Enter the state for which your agency has an assigned unique OASIS ID. OASIS ID – Enter the agency's unique state assigned OASIS ID.

Due Lead Time: <N> day(s)

Enter the number of days (maximum 55) before the OASIS recertification date to display a warning that the OASIS is due. For example, if you enter 30, the warning message will be displayed starting from 30 days before the recertification date.

Due Alerts

Select to display a warning message in TimeLog that an OASIS is due.

Show History

Select to view the history of the OASIS assessments in the Assessment History report (Reports>Clinical or Patient>Documents).

Show Condition Change

Select to indicate the patient's condition change comparing with the last response to the same OASIS question of the assessment. When you complete the OASIS item in the Assessments window for the first time, no icon appears.

Otherwise, the condition change icon appears on the top right corner of the assessment item:

  • Green up arrow - When the patient's condition improved.
  • Red down arrow - When the patient's condition got worse.
  • Yellow right arrow - When the patient's condition did not change

Indicate Key Items

Select to mark the assessments' OASIS questions (critical for correct calculation of the HHRG score) with the key icon on the top right of the item.

Enable HHVBP Questions

Select to display Home Health Value Based Purchasing (HHVBP) questions in the OASIS ICD-10 assessment templates v16.1 and later. The questions are displayed when the reason for assessment (RFA) is Start of Care (SOC) or Discharge or Transfer Summary. HHVBP questions are used to track quality measures regarding administration of the Shingles vaccine (Herpes Zoster) in Home Health patients 60 years old and older and advance care planning details for Home Health patients 65 years old and older. Use Start Date and End Date to set parameters for a date range when the HHVBP questions are displayed.
