Business Units – Basic Tab

Path: Administration>Configuration>Business Units

Using this tab, you can edit the general information about a Business Unit, set rules for printing address exceptions, and apply different settings within the whole application for your Business Unit. This tab also shows which Rate Set, Resource Set, Admin Set, Medication Set, Clinical Set, and Care Plan Set is linked to your Business Unit.

You can edit or view the following fields:

Field Description

Name

Enter the name for the Business Unit or change it appropriately.

Region

View the region for your Business Unit from the list of available regions as defined by the Netsmart Homecare Staff in Administration>Configuration>Organizations>Basic. Contact Netsmart Homecare Staff for assistance with updating this field.

CHHA Name

View the Certified Home Health or Licensed Agency name for the Business Unit. Contact Netsmart Homecare Staff for assistance with updating this field.

Hospice Name

View the Hospice Agency name for the Business Unit. Contact Netsmart Homecare Staff for assistance with updating this field.

Agency Type

View the agency type for this Business Unit. Contact Netsmart Homecare Staff for assistance with updating this field.

This field is used to identify the appropriate settings associated with the following items:

Field Description

Type of Bill

Determines the second digit used for Type of Bill in FL 4 of the UB-04 forms.

OASIS Due Alert tab (in My Day>My Patients)

This tab becomes active for the V (Home Health Agency) or B (Both Home Health Agency and Hospice) agency types.

Select Resources for Lists, Mailings, etc dialog (in Resource>File>View Resources Lists)

Agency types except V (Home Health Agency) make the Bereavement tab active.

Print Address Exceptions

Select to activate the Rules button and define the address printing rules.

Rules

Click to define the address printing rules for claims, TARs, NOEs, orders, clinical documents, and reports in the Address Print Option Controls window.

Customer Account #

Enter the number of the customer account.

Training or Inactive Business Unit - This is not live data!

Select to indicate that the Business Unit is used for trainings or is inactive and contains the invalid or outdated data.

Settings

Click to view or edit general settings for the Business Unit in the appropriate tabs. Business Units settings allow your agency to define parameters for the different components in the Netsmart Homecare application. These settings help ensure uniformity in processing information through the application. Business Unit settings affect the entire application.

Licensing

Contact Netsmart Homecare Staff for assistance with licensing settings.

Delete Business Unit

Contact Netsmart Homecare Staff for assistance with deleting Business Units.
