Patient privileges

Path: Administration>Configuration>Operators>Privileges [Scope Name]

The Patient component is divided into the following groups for which you can set up privileges:

Also, there are privileges that do not belong to any of the listed groups as they impact the entire component. These privileges are the following:

Policy Name Access Details

May delete Patient

Select whether the option to delete a patient (File>Delete Patient) is available. A patient may only be deleted if there are no services attached to the record.

Can view Patient Information panel

Allows viewing the Patient Information panel that appears on the right side of the Patient component.

Patient – General

The following privileges appear in the Patient>General group on the Privileges [Scope Name] tab for operators.

Policy Name Access Details

Patient Basic

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Basic window.

Demographics (Patient)

Provides full, read, or modify access to the Demographics window.

ICD-9 Diagnosis

Provides access to the Diagnoses window in Host Mode.

Provides full, read, modify, and insert access to the ICD-9 section in the Diagnoses window, the Select Diagnoses and Select Procedures dialogs.

For Field Mode, the ICD-9 section is available depending on the effective date and regardless of privileges.

Important: Diagnoses groups require sequence validation for all diagnoses, so all diagnoses (regardless of privileges) are shown to allow defining sequence.

For example, a patient has both ICD-9 and ICD-10 groups, and you try to add a new group, but you have the privilege only for the ICD-9 codes. In this case, ICD-10 diagnoses will be shown so that you can define the sequence. The ICD-10 section will disappear after you define the sequence and save your changes.

ICD-10 Diagnosis

Provides access to the Diagnoses window in Host Mode.

Provides full, read, modify, and insert access to the ICD-10 section in the Diagnoses window, the Select Diagnoses and Select Procedures dialogs.

Free-Text Diagnoses

Provides access to the Diagnoses window in Host Mode.

Provides full, read, modify, and insert access to the Free Text section in the Diagnoses window.

For Field Mode, the Free Text section is always available regardless of privileges. Important: Diagnoses groups require sequence validation for all diagnoses, so all diagnoses codes (regardless of privileges) will be shown to allow defining sequence.

Family & Friends

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Family & Friends window.

Notes (Patient)

Provides full, read, or modify access to the Notes window.

Patient Tasks (Patient General)

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Patient Tasks window.

You must also select the appropriate settings in the Operator Privileges category to enable the operator to create and assign tasks.

Admissions & Status Screen

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Admissions & Status window.

Can view and edit "Orders Certification Override (For administrator use only)" field

Provides access to the Orders Certification Override (For administrator use only) field in Patient>General>Admissions & Status.

May change current periods only

Obsolete, do not use.

Payers Screen

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Payers window.

Authorizations

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Authorizations window.

Negotiated Rates

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Negotiated Rates window.

Claim Constants (Patient)

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Claim Constants window.

Guarantors & Insured

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Guarantors & Insured window. Note: HL7-related windows are only enabled if your agency is contracted for an HL7 interface. For information regarding the purchase of an HL7 interface, contact Netsmart Homecare Client Support Services or your sales representative.

Patient's account #

Provides full or read access to the Account # field (Patient>General>Basic).

Patient's master id

Provides full or read access to the Master ID field (Patient>General>Basic).

Can Create New Patient (Requires Patient Basic Screen Full Access)

Allows creating new patients.

Payers Denial Information

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Payers Denial Information window.

Note: Functionality related to this window affects billing in Connecticut and Minnesota.

Split Billing Rules

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Split Billing Rules window.

Patient Limits

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Patient Limits window.

Can Establish Resource Address Rules

Provides full access for establishing resource address rules in the Admissions & Status window.

May change PPS episode number on the PPS Start of Care line

Provides full access for changing PPS episode number on the PPS Information tab of the Admissions & Status window.

May change number of Therapy Visits

Provides full access for changing therapy visits number on the PPS Information tab of the Admissions & Status window.

Diagnosis Groups

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Diagnosis Groups window.

Ability to enter a dx end date prior to start date of group where it is being edited

Provides ability to enter the diagnosis end date prior to the start date of a group in the All diagnoses mode.

Allow code deletion or edit from the All Diagnoses screen

Allows editing ICD codes, start and end dates, and deleting existing records in the All diagnoses mode when diagnoses group are defined.

Can Enter Requested Parameters

Provides access for entering the requested parameters in the Define Visit Limit Parameter dialog (Patient>General>Authorizations).

Can Mark as Pending Allow making authorization pending by selecting the Pending check box in the Authorization window

Assign Associations

Provides ability to assign associations to particular patients (Patient>General).

Can Edit CTI Physician

Provides access to the MD CTI field in the Admissions & Status window.

Can Edit Encounter Info

Provides full or read access to the encounter face-to-face meeting information (scheduled date and the date when it was actually performed) on the Encounter Information tab.

Can Edit Encounter Info in Field Mode

Provides additional access for editing the encounter face-to-face meeting information on the Encounter Information tab in Field Mode if Can Edit Encounter Info privilege is granted.

Can enter Future Dates for Admission

Allows entering future dates for patient's admissions in the Admissions & Status window.

Can Edit Effective Periods for Pay Source

Allows editing effective periods for patient's pay sources in the Payers window.

Can Edit EPS HHRG

Allows editing the EPS HHRG field on the EPS Information tab, which is used for New York EPS.

Can Edit Benefit Info

Provides access to the Benefit Info button in the Admissions & Status window. When pressing this button, the Hospice Benefit Information dialog opens.

Can Edit Final Claim Only

Allows editing the Final Claim Only field on the EPS Information tab, thus overriding insurance setup. This option is used for New York EPS.

Can Edit Synchronize Episodes

Allows editing the Synchronize Episodes field on the EPS Information tab, thus overriding insurance setup. This option is used for New York EPS.

Needs

Provides full or read access to the Needs window in Patient>General.

Patient – Clinical

The following privileges appear in the Patient>Clinical section on the Privileges tabs for operators, roles, and groups.

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the General Clinical window.

Patient Clinical Care Team

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Care Team window.

MAR (Patient)

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the MAR window.

Medications (Patient)

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Medications window.

Visit Frequency (Patient Clinical)

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Visit Frequency window.

Patient Clinical 486 Info

Provides full, read, or modify access to the 486 Info window.

Health Status Evaluation (Patient)

Provides full, read, or modify access to the Health Status Evaluation window.

Care Plans (Patient)

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Care Plans window.

Patient Clinical Assessments

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Assessments window.

Care Plan Charting

Provides full, read, or modify access to the Charting window.

Patient Clinical Charting History

Provides full or read access to the Charting History window.

TMHP Info

Provides full access to the TMHP Info window.

View Clinical Data

Provides full access to the View Clinical Data window (Patient>Clinical>Clinical Monitoring).

Mark Data As Erroneous

Establish Security for the Mark Data as Erroneous function for the operators that should be able to mark HL7 data records as invalid in Netsmart Homecare. This security privilege is located on the Administration>Configuration>Operators>Privileges tab under the Patient>Clinical>Clinical Monitoring category. This is only necessary if the HL7 Telemedicine Interface is being used.

Revision History

Provides full access to the Revision History window (Patient>Clinical>Clinical Monitoring).

Add/Edit Clinical Data

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Add/Edit Clinical Data window (Patient>Clinical>Clinical Monitoring).

Show Clinical Score, Functional Score, Service Utilization and NRS Score

Defines whether Clinical Score, Functional Score, Service Utilization and NRS Score is shown in the Scores dialog of the Assessments window.

Show Therapy Threshold

Defines whether Therapy Threshold is shown in the Scores dialog of the Assessments window.

Show OASIS Projected Therapy Visits

Defines whether OASIS Projected Therapy Visits is shown in the Scores dialog of the Assessments window.

Show Episode

Defines whether Episode is shown in the Scores dialog of the Assessments window.

Show HHRG Code

Defines whether HHRG Code is shown in the Scores dialog of the Assessments window.

Show HHRG Case Mix

Defines whether HHRG Case Mix is shown in the Scores dialog of the Assessments window.

Show NRS Severity

Defines whether NRS Severity is shown in the Scores dialog of the Assessments window.

Show NRS Weight

Defines whether NRS Weight is shown in the Scores dialog of the Assessments window.

Show HIPPS Code

Defines whether HIPPS Code is shown in the Scores dialog of the Assessments window.

Show Episode Amount

Defines whether Episode Amount will be shown in the Scores dialog of the Assessments window.

Imported  Medications 

(Patient/Clinical/Imported Medications)

Provides full, read, or modify access to the Imported Medications window.

Imported Medications Deny (Patient)

Denying imported medications in the Imported Medications window.

Imported Medications (Patient/Clinical/Medications)

Working with imported medications in the Medications window.

Falls

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Falls window (Patient>Clinical>Adverse Events).

Infections

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Infections window (Patient>Clinical>Adverse Events).

Allow Discontinue Medications at Patient Discharge

Controls the appearance of the Discontinue Medications dialog at patient discharge. This privilege works together with the End Medications as of Discharge Date setting in Administration>Configuration>Business Units>Medications. If both, the privilege and the setting are selected, then at patient discharge, the Discontinue Medications dialog opens where you can select which currently active medications to discontinue.

Quality Measures

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Quality Measures window.

Treatments

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Therapy Treatments window.

Note: Operators with full and insert access types are required to document therapy treatments to synchronize the visit.

Visit Notes

Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Visit Notes window. Note: Operators with full and insert access types are required to document Visit Notes to synchronize the visit.

Show Assessment Level

Defines whether Assessment Level is shown in the Scores dialog under Scores - NYMA EPS (New York Medicaid) of the Assessments window.

Show Age Group

Defines whether Age Group is shown under Scores - NYMA EPS (New York Medicaid) in the Scores dialog of the Assessments window.

Show Rate Code

Defines whether Rate Code is shown under Scores - NYMA EPS (New York Medicaid) in the Scores dialog of the Assessments window.

Immunizations (Patient) Provides full, read, modify, or insert access to the Immunizations window.
