Process pending imported medication
When receiving medications from Hospice Pharmacia, the unique Prescription ID value indicates whether medication is
- profiled (P)
- pending (R)
- dispensed (no preceding letter)
Schedule II Drugs are received as pending medications that must be confirmed in the Imported Medications window. Once Hospice Pharmacia has a hardcopy script for the pending medications, a message to dispense the pending medications is sent.
If the pending medication was confirmed before receiving the dispensed medication, then the dispensed medication can be processed and confirmed as usual.
If the pending medication was not confirmed before receiving the dispensed medication, then the Prescription ID cannot be found in the Medications window and therefore the pending medication cannot be ended. The dispensed medication appears as duplicate. In this case, you must deny the pending medication and confirm the dispensed medication.
