Define custom frequency for imported medications

Path: Patient>Clinical>Imported Medications>Add Medication to MAR

  • If you confirm the medication for the patient with an active MAR, the dialog appears asking whether you want to add this medication to the MAR.
    • If you click Yes or Yes to all, the Add Medication to MAR window opens.
  • You can add the medication as PRN or you can schedule it.
    • You can define the certain date or you can set the date range for taking the medications.
  • The user has to define the frequency of the medication.
    • The HL7 functionality does not store the frequency of the medication in the Netsmart Homecare database even if this frequency is defined in the OMP O09 message.
    • All the instructions on taking medication should be provided in the Special Instructions field of the message. 
    • The content of this field is stored in the database and is displayed under the Frequency section in the Add Medication To Mar window.
    • To set the frequency, click the Custom frequency button and enter the necessary values in the Frequency window.
