Transfer inventory using a pump
Transfer inventory using a pump as part of inventory and pump management in myAvatar Addiction Management.
- Inventory is transferred from the Inventory and Pump Management screen or the Dispensing screen. A pump is not needed to transfer inventory.
- Inventory should not be mounted on the unit when performing a transfer.
Note: Your organization may use registry settings that cause some of the messages described here to appear different in your system.
- Go to: Avatar PM > Avatar AM Options > Inventory and Pump Management.
- Choose the appropriate Unit # from the toolbar.
- In the dropdown menu select Pump and select Transfer Inventory.
- Select the inventory unit (bottle) to transfer medication from.
- Select the desired bottle or leave the highlight on the current bottle and select OK.
- Optional. Select Cancel to not to transfer inventory at this unit.
Result: You are returned to the Inventory and Pump Management screen or the Dispensing screen. - Select the inventory unit (bottle) to transfer mediation to.
- Optional. Select Cancel to not to transfer inventory at this unit.
Result: You are returned to the Inventory and Pump Management screen or the Dispensing screen. - Confirm that the bottle to transfer medication from and the bottle to transfer medication to are correct.
- Select Yes to continue with the transfer or select No to cancel the transfer.
- Enter the amount of medication (in milligrams) to transfer.
- Select OK to continue with the transfer or Cancel to cancel the transfer.
- Confirm the amount that is being transferred.
- Verify if the bottle the medication is being transferred 'from' will be empty after this transfer has been completed.
- Select Yes if the bottle will be empty after the transfer has been completed, or select No if the bottle will still contain medication after the transfer.
- If you select 'Yes' that the bottle will be empty after the transfer but myAvatar AM calculates that more (or less) medication should still remain in the bottle, you receive a message indicating there is an imbalance.
- Make the appropriate selection:
- Choose Yes to continue with the transfer and mark the unit as empty; you are prompted to provide a reason for the discrepancy so that an adjusting entry can be created to account for the imbalance.
OR - Choose No to cancel the transfer.
- Choose Yes to continue with the transfer and mark the unit as empty; you are prompted to provide a reason for the discrepancy so that an adjusting entry can be created to account for the imbalance.
- If it is indicated that the bottle will be empty after the transfer but myAvatar AM indicates that more (or less) inventory should remain in the bottle, and you want to continue, enter a reason for the adjusting entry.
- Select OK to complete the transfer and create the adjusting entry, or select Cancel to cancel the transfer and the inventory adjustment.
Note: If the 'Select Inventory Adjustment Reason' option is used, the Reason for Adjustment screen includes a dropdown list of adjustment reasons. - Enter a reason for the adjustment.
- If OK is selected on the Reason for Adjustment screen but no reason was entered, you are required to enter an adjustment reason.
- Select OK to clear the 'Reason Required' message and return to the Reason for Adjustment screen.
- Select OK in response to the message that the transfer is complete. You are returned to the Inventory and Pump Management screen or the Dispensing screen.
After the transfer is complete, you must open inventory for the bottle that you want to dispense from.
