Close pump inventory

Close pump inventory as part of inventory and pump management in myAvatar Addiction Management.

  1. Go to: Avatar PM > Avatar AM Options > Inventory and Pump Management
  2. Choose the appropriate Unit # from the toolbar.
  3. In the dropdown menu select Pump and select Close Inventory.
  4. Make the appropriate selection:
    • Select Yes to cause the pump to reverse and empty all of the medication from the lines; this is the recommended selection.
      OR
    • Select No to skip the process of emptying the lines if a bottle change is being performed in the middle of dispensing with an AccuVert pump.
      Note: If the 'Require Empty When Closing Inventory' option is selected, the option to skip emptying the pump lines is not provided. You must select Yes to clear the message and empty the pump lines.
  5. After the pump finishes the reversal process, verify that the tubes have been cleared of all medication:
    • Select Yes if there is no more medication in the tubes.
      OR
    • Select No if there is still medication in the lines; you are prompted to empty the pump lines again. It is strongly recommended to clear the tubes at least three times when closing inventory on a pump to verify that all medication has been returned to the current mounted bottle.

The inventory is now closed and the bottle can be removed from the pump. The small white cup symbol is no longer visible next to the inventory unit on the Inventory and Pump Management screen or the Dispensing screen, and the medication type/inventory bottle number displays 'No Inventory'.
