Field/Button Description

Add Scheduled Medication

Click this button to add regular medications to MAR. The button is available in the Add/Edit Meds mode only for the not activated yet and active MARs. The Medications for Patient Window opens.

Add PRN Medication

Click this button to add PRN medications to MAR. The button is available in the Add/Edit mode only for not activated yet and active MARs. The Medications for Patient Window opens.

Move Up/Down

Use these buttons to move the added medication within the MAR Grid. The button is available in the Add/Edit mode only for the not activated yet and active MARs.

Remove Current

Click this button to remove the selected medications from MAR. The button is available in the Add/Edit mode only for the not activated yet and active MARs. You cannot remove the medication if it has been already documented in MAR.

Scheduled orders

This section displays regular medications that are scheduled for a patient and added to MAR. All the added medications are displayed in the Add/Edit mode, held and ended medications are filtered out in the Document mode.

Note: Pause the mouse pointer on the medication name to view its start and discontinue time.

PRN

This section displays PRN medications that are scheduled for a patient and added to MAR. All the added medications are displayed in the Add/Edit mode, held and ended medications are filtered out in the Document mode.

Discontinued scheduled orders

This section displays the ended regular medications. This section is available only in the Document mode and when the Show ended/discontinued medications check box is selected on the Filter tab.

Discontinued PRN

This section displays ended PRN medications. This section is available only in the Document mode and when the Show ended/discontinued medications check box is selected on the Filter Tab.

View Meds not Posted to MAR

Click this button to view medications scheduled for a patient in the Medications window but not added to MAR. The button is available in the Document mode only for active and deactivated MARs.

Mark MAR as Reviewed

Click this button to mark MAR as reviewed for accuracy of medications listed, dose, frequency, and route. The button is available in the Document mode only and only for an active MAR.

Mark selection as Given

Click this button to mark the selected medications as given to the patient including predefined dose, frequency, route, and scheduled time. The button is available in the Document mode only for active and deactivated (if the appropriate privilege is granted) MARs. To select multiple medications at a time, use the Ctrl key.

Patient Signature

Click this button to let the patient sign the MAR indicating that the listed medications have been administered. The Patient's Signature Capture Window opens. This button is available only if the patient signature functionality is set up at the organization level.

Show Erroneous records

Select this check box to display the entries marked as erroneous in the grid (see Marking MAR as Erroneous). This check box is available only if there are any entries marked as erroneous.

Legend

  • Scheduled – Scheduled medications are displayed in white.

  • Variance – If the documented time for a medication differs from the scheduled in more than 30 minutes, the corresponding cell is highlighted yellow.

  • Hold – Medications on hold are highlighted blue for the appropriate day and time.  Such medication are shown only if the Show held medications check box is selected on the Filter Tab.

  • Unscheduled – Medications that should not be taken at the certain date or time due to their frequency are highlighted light gray in the corresponding cells.

  • Ended – Discontinued medications are highlighted dark gray. Ended regular and PRN medications are displayed in the corresponding sections only if the Show ended/discontinued medications check box is selected on the Filter Tab. If the medication was documented for some future time and it was discontinued between the real documentation time and the entered future time, it is highlighted dark gray and the selected check box in the cell indicates that it has been given.
