Medication Re-Screening

Perform on-demand re-screening of a client’s current medications to check for any drug-allergy or drug-drug interactions.

Avatar Order Entry > Order Entry Client Information > Medication Re-Screening

  • Medication re-screening is performed by the same third-party product (for example, First Databank) used when a Pharmacy order is added in myAvatar Order Entry.
  • Screening rules set up in the Order Entry Clinical Screening System Defaults form for clinical screening also apply to medication re-screening.
  • In addition to accessing the Medication Re-Screening form from the menu, click the Re-Screen Order button available in the Client Profile / Physicians Orders form.

Prerequisites:

  1. In the Select Client screen, enter the client name or ID and select. Click Select.
  2. In the Episode Selection screen, select the client episode, click OK.
  3. The Current Medications field lists the client's current medications by order number, order description, dosage, route, and order date.
  4. Click Screen. The client's current medications are screened for drug-allergy and drug-drug interaction information. The Screening Results field shows interaction alerts for each client medication.
  5. Click Print to generate a report that details current medications and screening results for the medications.
