Medication Regimen Review
Perform periodic reviews of a client's medication regimen.
Avatar Order Entry > Order Entry Client Information > Medication Regimen Review
- A Medication Regimen Review examines the client's current active medications, with options for comparing previous reviews and tracing the history of such reviews. The Medication Regimen Review form can be accessed from within Order Entry or from the To Do reminders for Medication Regimen Reviews that are coming due.
- Submitting this form automatically indicates that the user has performed a Medication Regimen Review for all current medication orders listed on the form. These orders cannot be included in any future review of current medication orders.
- Filing a Medication Regimen Review resets the start date used to calculate the due date for the next review of the client/episode medication orders.
- Medication Regimen Review cycles designate the number of days that will pass since the last Medication Regimen Review before the next review is due for inpatient, outpatient, and partial hospitalization episodes.
- Automatic To Do reminders can be sent to the client's attending practitioner or admitting practitioner to alert them that the client's periodic medication regimen review is coming due. The system evaluates all previously filed Medication Regimen Reviews to determine when the last review was completed. If the client does not have a previously filed Medication Regimen Review, the episode admission date is used as the starting point for determining the number of days between reviews. When the indicated number of days between reviews has passed, the system sends a To Do reminder to the attending practitioner to complete a Medication Regimen Review. If the client does not have an attending practitioner, the To Do reminder is sent to the admitting practitioner.
- Use registry settings to determine the number of days in the Medication Regimen Review cycle as well as the number of days before sending a To Do reminder.
