Interval Orders
Process interval orders via the Order Entry Console in myAvatar. This functionality is useful when the number of hours does not fit into the same administration times each day. For example, every five hours. Example frequencies for the minutes would be “every 15 minutes” or “every 20 minutes.”
Release considerations
To use Interval Frequency Code functionality, install the following.
- Avatar eMAR 2020 Update 6
- RADplus Client Update 2353-001
- Avatar CareFabric 2020 Update 27
-
Avatar Order Entry 2020 Update 11 -
- Order Entry - The First Dose fields have calendar and Now buttons to specify when the interval should start. When the First Dose date and time are specified, the Start Date and Start Time fields are disabled, and the Skip 1st Dose and Give Initial Dose Now buttons are unavailable. Interval orders will make the First Dose required.
- eMAR - Edit the hours of administration for interval frequencies, and increase the maximum number of daily administrations.
Updates
- Recurring Order Messages support orders that use Interval Frequency Codes.
- The External Lab Mapping for CareConnect form allows "Interval Frequencies" to be mapped.
- The file format for OE Order Codes for use with the File Import form includes several new fields.
- New one-day versions of the Administration Record reports are available for use in the Order Entry Forms Definition and Order Entry Forms Printing forms.
For interval orders that do not display the First Dose fields, such as Dietary orders, the Start Date and Start Time will be used in place of the First Dose date and time. The workflow for this should remain the same for both interval and non-interval orders.
