Document medication compliance - Home Medications
The Home Medications (Medication History) in Order Entry Console can contain both prescriptions and reported medications. Once you enter a prescription or a reported medication, you can document additional clinical information regarding medication compliance.
When documenting medication compliance, the Scratchpad is skipped in Order Entry Console as the entry is not a prescription order.
Prerequisites:
- The logged in user has an OrderConnect account and has completed Single-Sign-On configuration using the OrderConnect User/Password Update form.
- The logged in user has an Order Entry user role defined in the Order Entry User Definition form with no restrictions to enter or update orders on the Home Medications tab in Order Entry Console.
- Go to: Order Entry Console > Home Medications (Medication History) tab.
- Select a client.
- Select an existing prescription or a reported medication order.
Note: Hold the Ctrl or Shift keys to select multiple prescriptions and/or reported medications. - With one or more prescriptions and/or reported medications selected, select the Compliance button.
Note: If you select multiple prescriptions and/or reported medications, the compliance documented applies to all selected medications. - Complete the following fields:
- Compliance (required)
Note: The Compliance dictionary values are customizable by your organization. - Last Dose Date/Time (optional)
- Comments (optional)
- Compliance (required)
- Select Save.
Result: Once compliance is saved at least one time for a prescription or reported medication, the latest compliance submission appears in the Last Compliance column for that prescription or reported medication. Select View in the Compliance column to see comprehensive compliance documentation for the prescription or reported medication.
