Order Entry User Definition
Associate an Order Entry user with a user role and optionally customize a user role for individual users.
Customizing a user role does not affect the original user role definition that is set up in the Order Entry User Role form.
Prerequisite:
- Set up the user in the RADplus Utilities > System Security > User Maintenance > User Definition form in myAvatar PM.
-
Go to: Avatar Order Entry > Order Entry System Security > Order Entry User Definition. - In Select Order Entry User, enter the user ID or description and select.
- In the Order Entry User Definition section, if appropriate, select Deactivate User for Order Entry to prevent the user from using options in the Order Entry Client Information menu. Deactivating a user does not delete the user from Order Entry.
- The Staff Member field shows the staff member associated with the user (RADplus User Definition form).
- For Use Staff Member As Ordering Practitioner, select whether the staff member should be an ordering practitioner.
Important: For users who may be responsible for validating ANY orders, this setting must be set to Yes in order for the Validation icon to display orders that require validation.
Note: When this setting is set to Yes, the user's associated Practioner ID will default as the Ordering Practitioner, therefore eliminating the need for that user to have to select themselves each time they use the OE console.
This setting should be set to No for non-prescriber staff members so that they do not default to Ordering Practioner. - For Associate User with Order Entry User Role field, select whether the user is associated with a user role.
- If Yes is selected for Associate User with Order Entry User Role, choose Select Order Entry User Role, and then select the role.
- In User Role, edit the user role description as needed.
Important: If you change the description, it must match an existing user role that was created in the Order Entry User Role form. - For Allow Order Entry User Role Customization, select Yes to allow customizing the user role. This enables the Order Entry User Customization section of this form. Selecting No will delete all information previously filed in the Order Entry User Customization section.
- Complete the items in the Order Entry User Customization section. These fields are identical to those in the Order Entry User Role form. See that form for details.
- Select Submit.
