Set up Contractor Service Codes

Path: Administration > General > Service Codes/Contractor

  1. Go to Administration > General > Service Codes/Contractor
  2. Enter a code and description for the contractor service.
  3. Select the type of service that the contractor service code represents (see Contractor Service Types).
  4. In Cost Report Line No, specify the line of the Medicare Cost report where to include this contractor service.
  5. Select the billing rate at which your agency bills this service. If the service is non-billable, leave this field blank.
  6. Select the type of nursing service if this contractor service is a nursing visit.
  7. Select the discipline to associate with this service code.
  8. Select the CPT codes option to use during visit scheduling.
  9. Select the appropriate cost rate and pay rate code if contracted for the Private Duty functionality.
  10. Specify a default duration time for services performed with this service code.
  11. Select Hospice Direct Patient Care Service to specify that this service code is a direct patient care service. For more information about DPC services, see Hospice Direct Patient Care Services Setup.
  12. Select Qualified for Service Intensity Add-on (SIA) to mark this service code as SIA-eligible. For more information about SIA, see Hospice Payment Reform.
  13. Select Therapy Discipline Qualifying Visit to mark this service code as the qualifying visit (you may want to add a new service code only for the therapy disciplines you use). This check box turns on the 30-day clock for this type of service to notify the staff appropriately when to perform the 30-day reassessment visit. If the highlighting functionality is activated for the Schedule component (see Set Scheduling for Business Unit), then the 30th day starting from each particular qualifying therapy visit is highlighted. This clock works from admission to discharge and is reset for each therapy discipline (PT, OT, and ST) when a new qualifying visit is scheduled.

  14. Save your changes.
