Search for a diagnoses

  1. Open the Select Diagnosis dialog.
  2. In the Search field, type a diagnosis description or code.
  3. Optional. In the As of Date field, change or remove the date. This field defaults to the current date. If you leave it blank, your search will return all active diagnosis codes matching your diagnosis description or code.
  4. Click Search.
  5. In the Found section, review the diagnoses that match the information that you entered.
  6. For each diagnosis, you can view the description, corresponding ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes, expiration date, and clinical group. With privileges for both code types, you can click   and filter the codes that you need to view.
    1. Note: Large number of results are shown in groups of records. If you see such message at the bottom of the Found section, click Next to navigate to the next list of records.
  7. Double-click each applicable diagnosis to add it to the Selected section.

Note: You can also drag diagnoses to the Selected section. To remove a diagnosis from the Selected section, double-click it.

If a diagnosis has a related diagnosis, an ellipsis (...) displays in the Has Related Diagnoses column for that diagnosis. You can click the ellipsis to view and select one of the related diagnoses. The Has Related Diagnoses column is visible only in the Enhanced Search.

In the ICD-9/ICD-10 columns, you can click the ellipsis to open the Select Diagnosis window. The code is pre-populated in the Search field.

In host mode, select the ICD-9 or ICD-10 code.

To search for a diagnosis or procedure, click the ellipsis icon. For details, see Select Diagnosis/Procedure dialog.

Double-click the Description row for the correct diagnosis to assign move it to the Selected section for the patient.
