Delete posted service - PM
Delete a posted service for a client.
- If you neglected to post your charge reversal at the time of deleting the service, you may do so after the fact using Individual Cash Posting and posting your reversal against the deleted service.
- Go to Avatar PM > System Maintenance > Client Maintenance > Delete Service.
- In the Client ID field, enter the client name/ID and select a value from the Results list.
- In the Start Date field, enter the start date for services to display in the Delete Service screen.
- In the End Date field, enter the end date for services to display in the Delete Service screen.
- In the Claim Number field, select the claim number to filter services by.
- Click Display Client to display the Service Delete screen. Choose services to delete, click Ok.
- In the Would You Like To Post A Charge Reversal Against The Selected Services? field, indicate whether to post a charge reversal along with the service deletion.
- Click Yes to apply a posting code that will reverse a charge for a closed service and adjust the line item balance.
- In the Charge Reversal Code field, select which code. Charge reversal codes are defined via the Is This A Charge Reversal? field on the Posting/Adjustment Codes Definition form.
- If services are in an Unbilled status, selecting Yes will change the SERV code to DELETE and adjust the LINE BALANCE to equal zero, reducing the overall guarantor balance by the amount adjusted. Click No to delete the services without reversing the charge.
- If services are in an Unbilled status, selecting No (or leaving this field blank) will change the SERV code to DELETE but the LINE BALANCE will not adjust to zero, nor will it reduce the guarantor balance, which may cause a discrepancy when balancing daily receipts, or during month-end closing of the accounting period. To balance the account, you will have to adjust the line balance manually, using one of the posting forms.
- If services are in an Open status, selecting No (or leaving this field blank) will remove the service from the client as if the service was never entered.
- Click Delete.
- The confirmation screen displays a summary of the charges to be deleted. Click OK to process the deletion. This will also remove the to-do item from the practitioner's list.
