Foster Home Preferences

Record and track the foster home's preferences regarding the types of foster child behaviors they have the ability to care for.

  1. Go to: Avatar MSO > Provider Management > Foster Home Preferences
  2. In the Select Provider menu, search for and select an existing foster care provider.
  3. In the remaining fields, indicate the fostering parameters that this home is able and willing to consider.
    1. In the Willing To Foster? field, select whether or not this foster home is ready to foster and should be made available for matching with a foster child.
    2. In the Willing To Foster Sibling Groups? field, select whether or not this foster home is willing to accept groups of siblings.
    3. In the Willing To Adopt? field, select whether or not this foster home is willing to adopt children permanently.
    4. In the Willing To Adopt Sibling Groups? field, select whether or not this foster home is willing to adopt groups of siblings permanently.
    5. In the Level Of Care Accepted field, select the level of care that this home is able to meet.
    6. In the Preferred Capacity field, enter the number of children that this home is prepared to foster.
    7. In the Willing To Work With Child's Biological Parents? field, select whether or not this foster home is willing to cooperate with the child's parents.
Females
  1. In the Willing To Foster Females? field, select whether or not this home is able to care for girls.
  2. In the Preferred Minimum Female Age field, enter the youngest age that this home prefers for a girl.
  3. In the Willing To Consider Female Below Minimum Age? field, select whether or not this home is willing to consider fostering girls who are younger than the preferred minimum age.
  4. In the Preferred Maximum Female Age field, enter the oldest age that this home prefers for a girl.
  5. In the Willing To Consider Female Above Maximum Age? field, select whether or not this home is willing to consider fostering girls who are older than the preferred maximum age.
  6. In the Willing To Consider A Female Who Is Pregnant Or Has A Child? field, select whether or not this home is willing to foster girls who are pregnant or have children.
Males
  1. In the Willing To Foster Males? field, select whether or not this home is able to care for boys.
  2. In the Preferred Minimum Male Age field, enter the youngest age that this home prefers for a boy.
  3. In the Willing To Consider Male Below Minimum Age? field, select whether or not this home is willing to consider fostering boys who are younger than the preferred minimum age.
  4. In the Preferred Maximum Male Age field, enter the oldest age that this home prefers for a boy.
  5. In the Willing To Consider Male Above Maximum Age? field, select whether or not this home is willing to consider fostering boys who are older than the preferred maximum age.
  6. In the Willing To Consider Male Who Has Custody Of A Child? field, select whether or not this home is willing to foster boys with children.
Additional Preferences
  1. In the School District field, select which school districts this home is able to accept children from.
  2. In the Accepted Ethnic Origins? field, select which ethnicities this home is able to accept.
  3. In the Accepted Race(s) field, select which race(s) this home is able to accept.
  4. In the Willing To Foster A Child Who... field, select whether this home Will Accept, Will Consider, or Will Not Accept a child who:
  5. Has Parents/Caregivers Who Have A History Of Violence?
  6. Has Been A Victim Of Sexual Abuse?
  7. Has Had Multiple Short Term Placements?
  8. Click Submit.
