Foster Care Introduction

The Foster Care Module is an myAvatar MSO-based solution that helps you to track foster homes, foster home members, foster children, their placement, and service recording. It provides the ability to compile dates and services for the purpose of identifying the reimbursements to be provided to the foster home(s).

  • Prior to utilizing the Foster Care Module, Netsmart strongly recommends installing the updates and performing thorough testing in a test region.
  • You will need to download various updates from the Update Portal after being upgraded to the myAvatar platform.
  • There is a requirement to contact Netsmart for professional services to turn on the ability to use the Foster Care forms.

The following forms must be filed in order to equip the Foster Care Module for use:

      • Foster Child Placement
      • Foster Care Service Entry

    • If all clients have the same funding source, this can be used as a default.
    • This is needed by the following forms:
      • Foster Care Service Entry
      • Foster Care Placement
  • Adjustment Code Definition
    • Set up an adjustment code to be used when placements need to be backed out of the system.

Using the myAvatar PM Admission form, admit a foster child into an outpatient program.

Admitting a child into the Foster Care Program will allow for the child to be accessed within the Foster Care Module.
