CareGuidance Rule Definition

CareGuidance is a set of clinical content and decision support tools that have been designed to achieve desired outcomes. The CareGuidance content can include standards-based assessments, key structured data that is entered through data entry to support decision support and outcome analytics. CareGuidance can be used to provide information to clinicians through alerts, notifications and reminders at the point of care, as well as providing the data and analytical capabilities to measure the use and results of the decision support features. When a client event is entered in myAvatar that is associated with a CareGuidance alert, that alert will display in the My To-Do's widget.

For example, if an alert is associated with a tobacco cessation rule, and a client is recorded as being a heavy tobacco smoker, a CareGuidance alert will display in the My To-Do's widget for the user who has that client in their caseload.

Note: CareGuidance alerts are defined by Netsmart. These rules populate this form, and the CareGuidance Alert Settings of the User Definition, User Role Definition forms.

  • CareGuidance rules are associated with a user or user role in the User Definition, and User Role Definition forms. The alert settings for these rules can be defined for the individual user, or user role.
  • The alert settings for each CareGuidance rule can be customized for the user or user role.

Prerequisites:

  • The CareFabric Configuration form must be filled out and submitted.
  • The Enable CareGuidance field must be set to Yes in the Set System Defaults form, and the CareGuidance Caseload Types selected in the corresponding field.
  • In order for the CareGuidance alert to display in the My To-Do's widget, a user needs to be associated with a staff member (User Caseload sectionUser Definition form), and that staff member must have the client in their caseload.
