How to Complete Internal Referrals - PM
myAvatar provides you with the ability to request and track the acceptance or denial of a requested resource from within your organization. Referral requests can be made for placing a client into a program of care, into a group for group appointment scheduling, or even to a user-defined entity/resource.
This functionality was added to myAvatar with the following updates:
- Avatar RADplus 2015 Update 60
- Avatar PM 2015 Update 100
Prerequisites: Create a user-defined (modeled) form that collects the additional referral information needed to approve or reject a referral.
The form must contain a Non Scrolling Free Text data element that has been configured in Table Definition as a Referral Group.
- Go to the Internal Referral Type Maintenance form and define the settings for your internal referral types.
- Make sure that your referral type is associated with your user-defined form in the Assessment Associated With Internal Referral Type field. This data element populated the Internal Referral Type Being Requested drop down list in the Initiate Client Referrals form.
- To start an internal referral for a client, fill out the Internal Client Referrals form with the appropriate information. Upon, clicking the Initiate Internal Referral Process button, the associated user-defined form will launch.
- Submit your user-defined form with the appropriate information. Once filed, the internal referral request is sent to all users indicated in the User(s) To Receive Internal Referrals field of the Internal Referral Type Maintenance form.
- Receiving users can access their internal referral requests from the Process Internal Referrals form and approve or deny them from there.
- If any internal referrals are not ready for resolution, they can be added to the Internal Referral Waitlist. You can also add new referrals directly from this form.
