About Cal-PM SOGI Enhancements

Product updates are available to enhance how myAvatar can collect client demographic SOGI (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity) and other demographic data including Sex and Veteran Status. The following modifications have been made:

•  The following fields are available in various client demographic type product forms:

• Gender Identity
• Gender Identity (Please Describe)
• Sexual Orientation
• Sexual Orientation (Please Describe)

• The following fields related to Veteran Status are no longer episodic and are now in Client Demographics (and not the Other Client Data section of the Admission forms):

• Veteran
• Military Branch of Service
• Military Service From
• Military Service To
• Military Related Disability

• The existing sexual orientation related field titled Are you heterosexual, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or do you question your sexual orientation is now defined as an extended dictionary element on the new "Sexual Orientation" field.
• The Sex values for Transgender (F to M) and Transgender (M to F) are now inactive
• The ClientAdmission and ClientDemographics web services have been modified to support these updates

• The Preferred Name field is modified to support apostrophes and hyphens within the field.
• Existing data is converted to populate the new Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation fields. Existing data is also used to populate the veteran related information by client instead of client/episode.
• The Client Header is updated to display the 'Gender Identity (Please Describe)' field when applicable.
