Define Care Plan

Path: Administration>Clinical>Care Plans

  1. Go to Administration>Clinical>Care Plans.
  2. In the left section of the window, add a row.
  3. In the right section, enter a code for the care plan, up to four alphanumeric characters.
  4. Enter the description for the care plan, up to 56 alphanumeric characters.
  5. Specify whether a health concern must be associated with the care plan when it is assigned to a patient: 
    1. R - Required
    2. O - Optional
    3. N - Not Permitted.
  6. If needed, add a goal:
    1. Add a row in the upper grid of the right section.
    2. Enter the code and description for the goal.
    3. Select the order generation option (see Order (Generate Order Option)).
    4. Specify where the goal should appear for charting purposes (see Chart (Care Plan Charting for Goals)).
    5. Select the Active check box to make this goal available for use.
  7. If needed, add an intervention:
    1. Add a row in the lower grid.
    2. Enter the code and description for the intervention.
    3. Select the associated discipline for this intervention.
    4. Select the order generation option. For details, see Order (Generate Order Option).
    5. Specify whether the modifier is required, optional, or not permitted.
    6. Specify where the intervention should appear for charting purposes. For details, see Chart (Care Plan Charting for Interventions).
    7. Select the Active check box to make this intervention available for use.
  8. In the left section of the window, select the Active check box to make this care plan available for use in Patient>Clinical>Care Plans.
    1. If you clear the Active check box, the care plan is not displayed upon logging back into the application.
  9. Save your changes.
