Document Patient Comfort Level
Path: Patient>Clinical>Quality Measures
Prerequisite: To access the Quality Measures window, you need to have the appropriate privileges granted by the Netsmart Homecare administrator.
- In the Patient component, select the needed patient.
- Go to Clinical>Quality Measures. The Comfort Level window opens.
- Add a new row in the left pane of the window. Note: In the Initial section, the default Date is today, the default Episode is Initial Assessment.
- If needed, change the Date (you cannot select future dates).
- If you evaluate the comfort level on an episode of pain, select the Pain Episode check box.
- Check patient's ability to self-report, and then select the appropriate check box. Depending on your selection, do the one of the following:
- No – Specify the reason why a patient cannot self-report and proceed with step 7.
- Yes – Check if a patient is uncomfortable because of pain, and select the appropriate answer.
- If a patient is uncomfortable, rate the pain on the Scales tab of the Clinical Monitoring window. Then you may reassess the patient's comfort level in 48 hours (see Document Patient's Comfort Level in 48 hours).
- Click Change to open the Select Date Dialog, and then assign the comfort level record to a visit or resource. You can also use the Select Service Dialog to assign the comfort level record to a visit.
- Save your changes.
