Merge a duplicate person with a permanent person

Using the Merge utility in myEvolv, you can automatically move all of the duplicate person's events to the permanent person.

  1. Go to: Taskbar > System Maintenance > Application Maintenance > Merge.
  2. In the Duplicate Person panel, select Search People.
  3. Enter search criteria, then select Search.
  4. Select a person and select OK.
    Result: The person's information displays at the top of the Duplicate Person panel. 
  5. In the Permanent Person panel, select Search People.
  6. Enter search criteria, then select Search.
  7. Select a person and select OK.
    Results: The person's information displays at the top of the Permanent Person panel. Events for the duplicate person and the permanent person display side-by-side. 
  8. Select the right-facing arrow in the Duplicate Person header.
    Result: In the Duplicate Person panel the items being merged have a line through them, indicating there are no errors with those items and the content can be merged with the permanent person.
    Note: An alert icon in the Duplicate Person panel indicates a conflict with that item. Hover over the alert icon to see the conflict reason. Items with conflicts cannot be merged.
    • On the line with the conflict item, select the delete icon.
  9. In the Merge status panel, select the appropriate tab to review events with conflicts, unmerged events, and merged events.
  10. Optional. Before saving, select Cancel in the taskbar to undo changes and refresh the items listed in the Duplicate Person and Permanent Person panels.
  11. Select Save in the taskbar.
  12. Select Delete Duplicate at the right end of the taskbar to remove the duplicate person from the system.
