DSM Classification To Use - Registry Setting

Select the DSM Classification to use for the Diagnosis form as well as any ICD-10 diagnosis searches. This registry setting is facility specific.

 This registry setting will not be visible until a date has been saved in the Enable ICD-10 registry setting.

Enter '1' to use DSM-IV. This adds the Diagnosis (Axis IV and V) section to the Diagnosis form and populates the Classification field with the following values:

  • Axis I
  • Axis II
  • Axis II

When conducting a diagnosis search, DSM-IV codes will be returned in the search results.

Enter '2' to use DSM-5. This removes the Diagnosis (Axis IV and V) section from the Diagnosis form and populates the Classification field with the following values:

  • Medical
  • Environmental
  • Substance Abuse
  • Mental Health

When conducting a diagnosis search, DSM-5 terms will be returned in the search results.

Enter '0' to not use any DSM classification. This removes the Diagnosis (Axis IV and V) section from the Diagnosis form and populates the Classification field with the following values:

  • Medical
  • Environmental
  • Substance Abuse
  • Mental Health

When conducting a diagnosis search, no DSM codes/terms will be returned in the search results. The diagnosis search term will display in the client header.
