Manage views and widgets in View Definition

Create a view and include a Console Widget in that view. After creating a view, add the view to the user's Home View.

Prerequisites:

  1. Go to RADplus Utilities > Widget Management > View Definition.
  2. Choose Select View.
  3. Select a view, or click Add New View to create a view.
  4. For new views:
    1. In the View ID field, enter the ID for new views. No spaces are allowed.
    2. In the View Description field, enter the description for new views.
    3. In the View Type field:
      • Select Home View for home views.
      • Select Chart View for chart views.
      • The Associated Views field is disabled.
    4. In the Allow User to Customize View field, select if a user can customize a view. Custom views work with the console multiple home views in the following way:
      • Customized views are unique to each user.
      • If No is selected (the user cannot customize the view), any existing customizations for the view are deleted.
      • Updating a view in the View Definition form does not change customized versions of that view.
      • This applies unless the Allow User to Customize View field is set to No.
    5. In the Associated Views field, select views to associate with the Console View being created.
      • Associated views represent the consoles that can be assigned to a user or user role.
      • Associated views display as toggle buttons at the top of the home view.
      • The view being defined always displays as the first toggle button on the Home View. All other associated views display in alphabetical order.
  5. Select Launch View Designer to configure the available console widgets for the selected view.
Note: The Consoles section under the Available column displays the console widgets that were created in the Console Widget Configuration form.
  6. In the Available column, select a widget and select the right arrow, or drag and drop the widget from the Available column to the Assigned column.
Result: The assigned widgets display in the Default Role Layout.
  7. Optionally, select a widget in the Assigned column and click the left arrow to remove a widget from the Default Role Layout.
  8. Click Submit in the View Designer.
  9. Click Submit in the View Definition form.
  10. Have the user or users log out of myAvatar, and log back in to see the changes to the Console View.

The user's home view displays as the first toggle button on the Home View. All associated views appear in alphabetical order, according to the layout created in View Definition.
