Client Triggers - Field Based Triggers Section

Create system events when particular field values are filed in an SQL table. Events trigger when conditions are met. If conditions are no longer met, the event will be removed.


  1. Go to: RADplus Utilities > Database Management > Client Triggers > Field Based Triggers
  2. In the Field Based Triggers table, select Add New Item.
  3. In the Client Alert Types field, select the client alert type.
    Client alerts are defined in the Alert Types form.
  4. In the Trigger Alert for All Episodes field, select Yes to enable the trigger event for all client episodes.
    Select No to associated the event with defined dates.
  5. In the Number of Days Alert Should be Active field, enter the number of days the alert will active (starting with the current date).
  6. In the Field field, select the field to associate to the trigger.
    The value in this field is compared to the value entered in the Comparison Value field.
    Fields associated with the table selected in the Table field (Client Triggers section) are available.
  7. In the Type of Comparison field, select how the data in the field should match the Comparison Value field.
  8. In the 'Comparison Value' fields, enter the value to compare. Only one of the following fields will be enabled, depending on the type of Field chosen.
    • Comparison Value - Enter a word or phrase to compare to comments entered in the chosen text field.
    • Comparison Value (Dictionary) - Select the value to compare to the selection made in the chosen dictionary field (fields with a list of choices). The values in this field will vary according to the available choices for the selected Field.
    • Comparison Value (Date Field) - Select an existing date on the client's record to compare with the value entered in the chosen date field.
      • In the Days Before/After Comparison Value (Date Field) field, enter the number of days to use when calculating the trigger offset date.
        Positive numbers trigger the event that number of days later.
        Negative numbers trigger the event that number of days earlier.
        Entering "0" uses the date from the date field.
  9. In the Offset Trigger Based On The Following Date Field field, select the date field to define the trigger.
    Fields associated with the table selected in the Table field (Client Triggers section) are available.
    • In the Days Before/After Date Field to Offset Trigger, enter the number of days to use when calculating the trigger offset date.
      Positive numbers trigger the event that number of days later.
      Negative numbers trigger the event that number of days earlier.
      Entering "0" uses the date from the date field.
  10. Select Submit.
