Post Inbound HL7 Charge Batch File
Post a previously compiled batch file. Only those charges that have both a dollar amount and unit amount greater than zero will be added to the client ledger.
- Go to Avatar PM > HL7 Interface > Charge Processing > Post Inbound HL7 Charge Batch File.
- In the Charge Type field, select the whether it is a Dental, Immunization, Lab, or Pharmacy charge type.
- Select the appropriate Action:
- Delete - This action removes the selected batch from the system and the charges/credits contained therein are made available for pickup during a subsequent compile process. Only batches that have not yet been posted can be deleted.
- Post - This action files the charges/credits in the selected batch to the client ledger. When this is selected, the Run Liability Update field becomes available. The liability update process distributes open charges to the appropriate covering guarantor(s) based on financial eligibility. The default behavior is to not run liability update at the same time as HL7 charge posting due to the fact that it can take a significant amount of time if there is a large volume of clients/charges.
- View - This action runs a read-only report for the selected batch. All batches can be viewed.
- Void - This action removes the selected batch from the system and the charges/credits contained therein are not available for pickup during a subsequent compile process. This action is intended for batches that should never be posted. A batch that has been voided can be deleted (the assumption being that it was voided by mistake).
- In the HL7 Charge Batch File field, select the specific batch file. This options listed in this field are based on the selections made in the Charge Type and Action fields (e.g. choosing a Lab batch and Post populates this field will only lab batches that have not yet been posted).
- Select Process.
