You can configure uploading client continuity of care documents (CCD) to a Health Information Exchange (HIE) using the CareConnect HIE Configuration form.
Note: This functionality is supported only for clients running on Cache 2010 or above.
- Go to: Avatar PM > System Maintenance > System Definition > CareConnect HIE Configuration.
- In the Enable CCD Updates To A Health Information Exchange field:
- Select Yes to allow the CCD to be generated and sent when an update is made to information related to the CCD.
- Select No to disable automatic sending of an updated CCD.
- In the Save CCD File To Audit Log field:
- Select Yes to save the file to the audit log.
Note: Selecting Yes may cause the database to fill with data quickly.
- Select No to continue without caving CCDs to the audit log.
- In the Health Information Exchange ID field, enter the HIE number.
- In the Provider ID field, enter the provider number.
- In the HIE Supports 42 CFR Part 2 Requirements field, select whether or not the HIE supports 42 CFR.
- In the Consent Required For field, select whether the consent to send or consent to query is enabled on the HIE section of the Consent for Access form.
- Click Refresh Network List to populate the Network on the External Network section of the Consent for Access form with all of the configured HIEs.
- In the Content field, select the data types to include in a CCD being sent to an HIE. This field is used with Meaningful Use.
- Select Submit.
