Specimen Collection screen

Specimen collection is used for lab orders that require a specimen to be collected by the facility.

This requirement is triggered when the Specimen Collection Method field is set to Facility Staff Will Collect upon order entry (see the Order Entry Console Guide for more information). When set to Facility Staff Will Collect, the order will not be sent via CareConnect until specimen collection is completed in eMAR.

Client and lab order information displays in the top section of the screen.

  • The Specimen Type field displays the specimen type defined on the order.
  • Select whether or not the client has been Fasting for this collection.
  • Select whether or not the Client Refused to provide the specimen.
