Interaction alerts

In the Order Entry Console, passive alerts appear during the ordering process. Alert icons display with the order details and in the Scratchpad. At any point, you can select the alert icon, review the alert, and resolve the issue. 

Selecting the individual alert icons to see alerts for the specific order. When you attempt to sign an order, all unresolved alerts are shown to you for resolution. You must address all alerts prior to signing. The Save Override and Exit button is not available until all alerts have been addressed.

Note: Not all alerts available in OrdeConnect are displayed within the Order Entry Console. Specifically, black box warnings, prescribing guidelines, and non-severity alerts such as lactation warnings are not shown when ordering on the Home Medications tab. The system does comply with all meaningful use requirements for drug-drug (including duplicate therapies) and drug-allergy warnings.
