GAIN Assessment

The GAIN (Global Appraisal of Individual Needs) is an assessment form available within myAvatar.

Prerequisites

  1. Go to: Avatar CWS > GAIN Interface > GAIN Assessment
  2. In the Client ID field, enter the client name, click Process Search to select.
  3. Select Ok.
  4. In the Episode field, select the client episode.
  5. In the GAIN Assessment Action field:
  • Select Add create a GAIN assessment. A Web browser opens and displays the client's Clinical Record View.
  • Select Edit to change a GAIN assessment. A Web browser opens and displays the GAIN assessment for editing.
  • Select Report to generate a report that details GAIN assessment information.
  • Select Retrieve Assessment Data to populate the SYSTEM.GAIN_I_results SQL table with the GAIN assessment data.
  1. In the GAIN Assessment Type field, select the type of GAIN assessment.
  2. In the GAIN Assessment History field, select the GAIN assessment associated with the client (Client ID field).
  3. Select Process GAIN Assessment Action.
    Depending on the selection made in the Gain Assessment Action field, the following occurs:
  • If Add is selected and no GAIN assessment is associated with the client – a Web browser will open displaying the GAIN assessment homepage for the client.
  • If Add is selected and a GAIN assessment is associated with the client – new web browser will open displaying the GAIN assessment webpage for the client.
  • If Edit is selected - a Web browser will open displaying the Chestnut Hill GAIN assessment page. The assessment can be modified.
  • If Report is selected - a Web browser will open displaying the report from the GAIN website.
