Adjust inventory
Use the Adjust Inventory form in myAvatar AM NX to adjust the amount of inventory in a given bottle. A few reasons why this might be necessary are large spills from the main bottle (not dose spills) or a manufacturer recall.
Note: It is highly recommended to get a second witness for any adjustments or spills with a Class II medication.
- Go to the Adjust Inventory form.
- Choose the bottle that you need to adjust.
- Enter the label number for the Bottle Label.
Note: As an alternative, you can search by entering the bottle number portion of the label number and selecting the correct bottle in the search results. - Double-click the appropriate bottle number when it appears in the dropdown list.
Result: The bottle that you selected shows in the Bottle Label field. - Verify that the bottle is the bottle that you need to adjust.
Note: The Internal Number and Unit Volume fields populate based on information from myAvatar. Both fields are grayed out, meaning that you are not meant to modify any of the information within these fields. - Choose the Adjustment Reason from the dropdown list.
- Choose whether the volume was increased or decreased and by how much. For example, if you drop an open bottle of methadone on the counter by mistake, you have to determine how much methadone was spilled from the bottle and then enter the amount to remove from that bottle.
- When you are sure of the amount of medication to add or remove from the bottle, enter a detailed note describing the situation and who witnessed it.
- Select File.
Result: A notification that the adjustment was filed appears. - Select OK to acknowledge.
