Switch bed assignments - PM

Switch the bed assignments of two clients.

  •  Bed Assignments are only available for inpatient and partial hospital episodes.
  1. Go to: Avatar PM > System Maintenance > Client Maintenance > Bed Switch.
  2. For the Bed Assignment Date, select the effective posting date for the transfer. Select T for today's date.
  3. For the Bed Assignment Time, select the effective time for the transfer. Select Current for the current time.
  4. For Search By Client ID or Unit, select whether to search for a specific client or within a specific unit.
    • If searching by client, enter the client name or ID in the Client ID field and select a value from the Results list. The client's information populates the fields below.
    • If searching by unit, select the unit from the Unit drop-down menu, then select the Room and the Bed to switch from. If the bed is occupied, the client ID populate the fields above.
  5. Search for and select the second client. 
  6. Review the Client Information for both beds, including the client's program and admit date as well as information about the bed, such as whether it is licensed or Medicare certified.
  7. Select Submit.
