New Scheduler Security

Overview

How to set up security for the new TIER Scheduler.

Details

Security settings for the new TIER Scheduler are maintained with selections made within the Scheduler Setup window. To access this window, click the red Scheduler icon. Only members of the Administrators security group can make the changes. There are two tabs, Scheduler Setting and User Rights.

If you are using the new Scheduler, remember to review these settings from time to time. For more in depth descriptions of the Scheduler security features and options, please refer to the TIER Scheduler manual.

Scheduler Setting tab - Set the Scheduler global features and options.

  • Location for holiday schedule; set to USA and cannot be changed
  • Heading for printing schedules
  • Facility Label; enter a name for the label (for example, Location); the facility label is located on the Filter
  • Loading appointments from past months
  • Default shift timing, FROM and TO fields; enter the hours of operations
  • Default working days
  • Mandatory appointment fields: Service Code, Department, Program or Facility
  • Enable charge slip creation, part of automatically creating a billable charge slip on the day of the session

User Rights tab - Grant authority to the Scheduler based on existing TIER Security groups.

The Groups field refers to the TIER security groups; it defaults to the Administrators group

Select or deselect the following options per security group.

  • My Scheduler - allows you to schedule appointments for yourself
  • TIER Scheduler - allows you to view the Scheduler
  • Create Scheduler - allows you to create an appointment
  • View Schedule - allows you to view appointments
  • Edit Schedule - allows you to edit appointments
  • Delete Schedule - allows you to delete appointments. Your organization's policy might be to not delete appointments, only cancel. Deselecting this option aids in enforcing the policy.
