New Year Checkpoints

Overview

With the new year upon us, now is a good time to review your TIER system and make sure everything is up to date as well as plan for changes. Why not make your New Year’s resolution to review your system and plan for the new and exciting year ahead.

Tasks for the New Year

Listed here are just a few suggested areas to review.

  • Rates of billable procedures – Are there any rate changes for the new year? If so, be sure to add end dates to existing rates and add the new rates. This includes standard rates, contract rates and negotiated rates.
  • Group Cycle dates – If you use groups, be sure to check your end dates. Also, if you are adding any new groups for the year, now is a good time to add these.
  • TIER users – Are there users that have left the organization? If so, did you remember to make them inactive? You can easily do this by moving them to a restricted group; this way you’ll know for sure that those users are inactive.
  • Organization changes – Now is a good time to make sure Netsmart has up-to-date information about your organization. What version of TIER are you on? Have there been any recent additions or departures to your organization? Do you have any individuals who should receive or stop receiving communications from Netsmart (TIERTidbits, Product Announcements, and so on)?
  • System Maintenance – Is your TIER®system maintenance plan up to date? Are your backups running successfully? Do you have a disaster recovery plan in place? How is the disk space on your server? Review your server and make plans to grow it before it outgrows you.
  • EXE Changes – The new year is also a good time to review your user community. Do you know what version of TIER each client machine is running? If everyone is not on the same version of TIER, is there a plan to bring everyone up to the same version?
  • New TIER enhancements – Are you planning on adding any new TIER features this year? If so, do you have dates and a budget set for these?
