Resource PECOS enrollment

Path: Resource > General > PECOS Enrollment

Prerequisite: This menu item requires the PECOS Enrollment privilege located at Administration > Configuration > Operators > Resource>  General in Groups, Roles, and Operators. 

When a new physician is added in Homecare, the PECOS Enrollment window is empty. The agency must manually enter the initial entry unless the PECOS file is loaded manually or the agency waits until midnight processing for the API call to determine if a new file is ready to be loaded. The initial entry requires:

• Start Date - Make sure the start date covers the earliest certification date for the provider.
• Part B
• DME
• HHA
• PMD
• Hospice (New Column is effective with 24.1. The value is populated with the new file structure effective on April 1, 2024)
• Source Type = Manual

As newer PECOS files are uploaded, the PECOS Enrollment window is updated, with the previous rows being end-dated and new rows created if new values are found in the PECOS system. A value of 'Pending' is still applicable since CMS continues to allow paper applications, and the original system design allowed for this value. A 'Pending' value is treated as a 'Yes' for billing and orders.
