Path: Administration>Clinical>Medication Routes

Using the Medication Routes window, you can add, edit and delete the various ways that medications may be prescribed to patients. The Medication Routes window contains two tabs, Non Medi-Span Routes and Medi- Span Routes.

Because the medication administration routes provided by Medi-Span do not always support the standard and customized abbreviations in clinical practice, the Non Medi-Span Routes tab provides you with the ability to select from a standard abbreviation listing. If a route does not have a non Medi-Span description, then the Medi-Span description is used.

In the Non Medi-Span Routes tab, enter the code for the medication route (up to 25 alphanumeric characters), revenue code, description, and select the Default check box to set the medication route as default in Patient>Clinical>Medications when adding a medication.
