Roles window
Path: Resource>General>Roles
With the Roles window, you can define a resource's specific information such as:
- status (active or inactive)
- resource type
- employment date
- licenses
- and so on.
- You can also add provider taxonomy codes for a resource and associate these codes with a resource type.
You must assign at least one role (resource type) to each resource, which defines the type of function or position that the resource fulfills.
- If multiple roles exist, each role appears as a separate tab.
- The resource type also identifies the resource as staff or contractor.
- Staff is paid through your agency's payroll.
- Contractors are resources for which your agency receives invoices.
- A resource of the Neither category is a resource who provides some service to your agency but whose time you do not need to track.
Note: Resource types, assumed durations, and service codes are defined in Administration>General>Resource Types but you can override these settings for individual resources by selecting the needed value from the Default Service Code and a Default Service Duration drop-down lists. The default service duration for a role carries over into schedule when the role is selected in the Schedule component.
To save the resource, complete the Status and Employment Date (for staff resources) or Status Date (for contractors) fields.
To allow entering OASIS assessments for a resource type, define the resource category as C (Contractor) and select the Can Do OASIS Assessments check box in Administration>General>Resource Types.
