HL7 outbound message processing

Prerequisite: Using the Outbound Message Processing functionality, you can send outbound messages to destinations defined in Administration>Configuration>HL7>HL7 Destinations.

TThe following message types can be sent using the Outbound Message Processing functionality.

Message Type	Description
ADT_A01	Admit/visit notification
ADT_A02	Transfer a patient
ADT_A03	Discharge/end visit
ADT_A04	Register a patient
ADT_A08	Update person information
ADT_A28	Add person or patient information
ADT_A31	Update person information
ADT_P01	Add/Update Patient Account (LastWord compatible)
BAR_P01	Add/Update Patient Account (HL7 2.4 compatible)
DFT_P03	Post detail financial transactions

ORU R01 message can also be sent using the outbound functionality.

However, the ORU R01 type does not appear for selection in the Outbound HL7 Message Processing window.
If the system is set to process R01 messages in Administration>Configuration>HL7>HL7 General Settings and one of the destinations is marked as an R01 subscriber, the Outbound Processing functionality checks for data ready for R01 message automatically.
If these data are ready, the system sends an R01 message to the corresponding destination automatically.
