Growth charts help monitor growth among female and male infants, children, and adolescents. Growth charts plot an individual's body measurements in relation to their peers of the same gender and age group.
Growth charts take into account the client's age and their measurements (vitals) such as height, weight, head circumference, and BMI to determine where the client is at in relation to their peers. In these charts, the client's growth is expressed as a percentile. A percentile is a value on a scale of 100. For example, a child in the 75th percentile for height has a height that is at or above 75 percent of that of their peers.
myEvolv uses the client's vitals recorded at Client > Client Information > Health Information > Vitals to create the growth charts.
The available growth charts are based on CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and WHO (World Health Organization) standards. The CDC standards include charts for individuals up to the age of 20 with Down's Syndrome.
As an example, a male at 24 months and with a BMI of 19.8 would fall within the 95th and 97th percentile. This means his BMI is higher than at least 95 percent of individuals of the same age and gender.
