Before You Begin
Open Test Designer from Form Designer
- Open Form Designer.
- In a Test form line, click the down arrow to expand the item.
- In the Test Header field, click the magnifying glass icon.

The Test Header Setup Lookup form displays.

- Enter search criteria to locate a test or select one from the list.
Search tests in Test List
- Navigate to Test Designer.
- In the module header select the appropriate tab: Test Designer - People, Test Designer - Profile, or Test Designer - Cases.
Note: The tabs serve as filters for the Test List. The filters are people, profiles/groups, and family cases. - The Test List displays all tests available for that category.

- Drag the cursor over the Test List header and click the magnifying glass icon.

- In the search box type a partial name and all tests containing that name will display in the Test List.

Sort the Test List
- Navigate to Test Designer.
- In the module header select the appropriate tab: Test Designer - People, Test Designer - Profile, or Test Designer - Cases.
Note: The tabs serve as filters for the Test List. The filters are people, profiles/groups, and family cases. - The Test List displays all tests available for that category.

- Drag the cursor over the Test List header and click the up-and-down arrows to sort the list in ascending or descending order, such as from A-Z or Z-A.
Note: Tests names that begin with numerals will display before test names beginning with letters.

Load a test in the Properties Pane
- Navigate to Test Designer.
- In the module header select the appropriate tab: Test Designer - People, Test Designer - Profile, or Test Designer - Cases.
Note: The Test List displays all tests available for that category. - In the Test List, click the test name or click the pushpin icon in the P1 column to load the test in the Properties Pane 1.
- To load a test in Pane 2, click the test name or click the pushpin icon in the P2 column.
Note: The test name displays in bold in the Test List and the pushpin changes to vertical and black to indicate the test is loaded in the Properties pane.

- To unload a test from the Properties pane, click the black pushpin icon in the P1 or P2 column. Alternatively, in the Properties pane click the test name and click Actions, then Close. The test name is no longer bold in the Test List and the pushpin changes to gray.
Increase size of workspace
In the toolbar click Hide Form List and Hide Toolbox to hide those areas. Click Show Form List and Show Toolbox to show those areas.

Preview a test
You can preview a test from the Test List or the Properties pane.
- Navigate to Test Designer.
- In the module header select the appropriate tab: Test Designer - People, Test Designer - Profile, or Test Designer - Cases.
Note: The tabs serve as filters for the Test List. The filters are people, profiles/groups, and family cases. - The Test List displays all tests available for that category.

- In the Test List
- click the preview icon
to the right of the test name.
OR - click the test name or the pushpin icon in the P1 or P2 column to load the test in the Properties pane. In the Test or Test Header line, click Actions and select Preview.
- click the preview icon
The test displays in a separate preview window.
Compare tests side-by-side
- Navigate to Test Designer.
- In the module header select the appropriate tab: Test Designer - People, Test Designer - Profile, or Test Designer - Cases.
Note: The Test List displays all tests available for that category. - In the Test List, to load a test in Pane 1, click the test name or click the pushpin icon in the P1 column.
- In the Test List, to load a test in Pane 2, click the test name or click the pushpin icon in the P2 column.
Note: The tests will display side-by-side.

Cancel changes to a test
Cancel changes to test lines rather than canceling the entire test. Canceling a change will undo the action.
Note: You can only cancel changes to test lines prior to saving the test.
- Navigate to Test Designer.
- In the module header select the appropriate tab: Test Designer - People, Test Designer - Profile, or Test Designer - Cases.
Note: The Test List displays all tests available for that category. - In the Test List, click the test name or click the pushpin icon in the P1 or P2 column to load the test in the Properties pane.
- In the Properties pane make changes to test lines, such as editing an item.
- To cancel changes for an individual test line, in the line click Actions, then Cancel.
- To cancel all changes made to a test, in the toolbar click Cancel.
Close a test
- Navigate to Test Designer.
- In the module header select the appropriate tab: Test Designer - People, Test Designer - Profile, or Test Designer - Cases.
Note: The Test List displays all tests available for that category. - In the Test List, click the test name or click the pushpin icon in the P1 or P2 column to load the test in the Properties pane.
- In the Test or Test Header line click Actions and select Close.
OR
In the appropriate column (P1 or P2), click the black pushpin icon to close the test.
Note: The test is removed from the Properties pane and it is unpinned in the Test List--the test name is no longer bold and the pushpin icon changes to gray.
View Test History
View the history of changes for a test, test group, or test item.
- Navigate to Test Designer.
- In the module header select the appropriate tab: Test Designer - People, Test Designer - Profile, or Test Designer - Cases.
Note: The Test List displays all tests available for that category. - In the Test List, click the test name or click the pushpin icon in the P1 or P2 column to load the test in the Properties pane.
- In the Test line, click Actions and select History.
Note: The test history displays in a separate window. -
From left to right, the test history shows the following information.
- Action - Type of action performed, such as Created By
- Staff - Person who performed the action
- Date- Date and time the person performed the action
- Preview icon - View an SQL statement associated with the test line
- To view an SQL statement, if one is associated with the item, click the arrow in the far left column or the preview icon in the far right column.
- Click Print to print the history or Close to close the preview window.
