Details
After opening one of the defined time charts, you will see the following fields:
- Description - Name of the time unit chart.
- Start Counting (hh:mm) - The Amount of time to start the count. If strictly by minutes, start this value at 00:01.
- For Every (hh:mm) - Enter the end amount of time for a unit.
- Unit - This is the actual unit amount. This number can be a whole number or a decimal value.
- Allow Fractional Units - Flag if you wish to allow fractional units. For example, do you wish to allow 1.4 of a unit and create a bill for 1.4 of a unit?
- Decimal Positions to Round - If Fractional Units is flagged, here you can choose decimal positions to round. For example, the time entered on a service may calculate to 1.66666666 unit. Rounding to 2 places will use 1.67 in a calculation. Rounding to 1 place will use 1.7.
- Max Units - Use if you wish to allow a maximum number of units. For example, if the time chart is 15 minutes = 1 unit, you can enter in a max of 4, which will only create a bill for 1 hour even if the duration is set to 1:30.
- Custom Chart - Create time chart for when calculation of units is not recurring and requires a custom definition. Leave the top portion of the form blank if using a custom chart.
Below are the most common times charts used by agencies:
- Every 15 Min = 1 Unit start at 6min – This chart starts counting at 6 minutes then increases the unit count every 15. If a service tied to a rate using this time chart is 22 minutes, the system will create as 2 unit.
- Every 15 min =1 unit start at 8 mins then + 15 – This chart starts counting at 8 minutes then increases the unit count every 15. If a service tied to a rate using this time chart is 22 minutes, the system will create as 1 unit, 24 mins would be 2 units, and so on.
- Every 15 Minutes = 1 unit Round Down – This chart starts counting at 15 minute then increases the unit count every 15. If a service tied to a rate using this time chart is 22 minutes, the system will create as 1 unit, 10 mins will not create a unit, 35 minutes would be 2 units, and so on.
- Every 15 Minutes = 1 Unit Round Up – This chart starts counting at 1 minute then increases the unit count every 15. If a service tied to a rate using this time chart is 22 minutes, the system will create as 2 units.
- Time Does not matter Each Service = 1 unit – System will look for fact there is a service without considering duration.
- Every 15 Minutes = .25 unit – Rate entered using this time chart will be entered at the hourly rate but will divide units in 15 minute increments. For example, rate is $100 an hour, service is 45 minutes = .75 units = $75.
- Every 30 mins = 1 unit Round Down - This chart starts counting at 1 minute then increases the unit count every 30. If a service tied to a rate using this time chart is 22 minutes, the system will create as 1 unit.
- Every Hour = 1 Unit Start at 1hr = Service must be 1 hour to count as unit. 1:30 will be 1 unit, 2:00 will be 2, and so on.
- Every 1 Hour = 1 Unit, no fractions – This chart starts counting at 1 minute then increases the unit count every 1 hour. If a service tied to a rate using this time chart is 22 minutes, the system will create as 1 unit, 45 minutes is 1 unit, 1-1:59 is 2 units, and so on.
