Payer Information

A Payer is who is being billed. It is as an umbrella for relating plans/contracts by grouping like contracts, allowing the same payer to share the same rates. Reports can be generated by this umbrella.

Finance Setup > Payer/Contract Setup > Payers > Payer Information 

Details

  • Type - Picklist of insurance types.  These can be defined in Table Maintenance.
  • ID - The Payer's ID
  • Name - The Name of the Payer. [i.e. Blue Cross/Blue Shield]
  • Can be Directly Paid/Refunded - By flagging, the Payer will then be a Vendor. This is used as the Payer to receive Vendor Refunds when there is a Void claim.
  • Contact Information - Use for entering the payer's contact person if applicable.

Plans and Miscellaneous  tab information is created during Netsmart Finance Consultation visit and rarely require new additions over time.  You should consult with Netsmart Staff prior to adding on your own.  Billing Rates Defined and Payment Rates Defined tabs will be populated as you create new billing and payment rates. You will never populate them in the forms below.
