Notifications Setup
Define alert messages for notification types. Notifications are user-defined, except for Results Entry notifications.
Netsmart is not responsible for security of Protected Health Information (PHI) sent outside the myAvatar system. PHI should NOT be included in the Notification Text field when information is sent outside this secure messaging system. This includes, without limitation, words or numbers that could be used alone or in combination with other data, to identify an individual, such as a name, identification number (license, medical record etc), any part of a birth date. When in doubt, contact your facility chief privacy officer.
RADplus Utilities > Notifications > Notifications Setup
Prerequisites:

Results Entry must be installed to access Results Entry notifications.

In the Notification Type field, select the type of notification. Notifications set up in the Notification Type Definition form display.

The Send Notifications To field displays where the notification will be sent.

In the Notification Method field, select how the notification will be sent.
- Select Organizational Email to send an email to the organizational email address.
- Select Personal Email to send an email to a user's personal email address.
- Select Popup Notification to display a notification message as a popup in myAvatar .
- Select SMS Text Message to send a text message to an SMS enabled mobile phone.
- Select To Do to send a notification as a To-Do item.
- In the To Do Priority field, select priority level for the notification defined in this form. Priority is information only and does not affect the order in which To-Dos are delivered.

In the Keywords field, select keywords to add to the end of the Notification Text field. When the notification message is sent, these keywords will be replaced by associated system data.
For example, if "CURRENT_DATE" is inserted into the Notification Text field, then when a notification of this type is sent, the translated message will contain the date the notification was sent. -
In the Limiting Criteria field define the factors that could limit how notifications are sent. Notifications will be sent when these conditions are met.

None - notifications have no limiting criteria.

Specify - define conditions that can trigger a notification.

In the Notification Text field, enter the text to be used for notification messages. The Keywords field can be used to add key phrases that will be replaced by data when the message is sent.
- If key phrases were selected (Keywords field), those phrases display in this field.
- Key phrases, and notification text can be edited.
At least one chain notification (see below) must be created in order to link notifications.
- When finished, click Submit.
Chain Notifications
Chain notifications allow you to send a product To-Do, and a separate notification. A chain notification must be created from another notification. It will be automatically linked to the notification where it was created. A notification can be linked from multiple notifications.
The Notification Text and Notification Method fields must be individually defined for each notification included in a chain.
- In the Chain Notification Type field, select:
- None - to indicate that the notification does not have a chain notification attached.
- Create New - to attach a new chain notification.
- Enter the title of the new notification type in the New Chain Notification Type field.
- Select delivery method in the Notification Method field.
- Enter the notification message in the Notification Text field.
- Use Existing - to attach a previously-defined chain notification.
- In the Existing Chain Notification field, select the notification type.
Delete Notifications
- If appropriate, in the Existing Chain Notification to Delete field, select the notification to remove.
- Click Delete Notification to remove the chain notification from myAvatar .
- Click Submit to save your changes.
