The table below presents the structure needed to create a tab-delimited text document to import the dictionary data.

Dictionary value
Descriptions greater than 40 characters are shortened to 40 characters.

Inactive

Displays X for inactive dictionaries. Leave blank for active dictionaries.

Extended Data Element

Data element number for the extended dictionary. Leave blank if no extended dictionaries.
If multiple extended attributes, a new row must be added for each extended attribute.

Extended Dictionary Setting

Enter the extended dictionary code for single response extended dictionaries.
For multiple response extended dictionaries, separate codes with ‘&’.
For free text extended dictionaries, enter the free text value.
